Barbarian protagonists

Group Description

Games in which a barbarian is the main protagonist or hero/heroine. Historically, the term "barbarian" were used to identify "uncivilized" cultures in the classical world, other than the Romans or the Greeks, usually referring to Gothic, Gaelic and tribes occupying the western steppes of modern day Eastern Europe.

Although the term "barbarian" itself in many languages are used to refer an inferior race (and several other variations), this game group is limited to the original Roman-Greco use, referring to protagonists with long (and obviously un-shampooed hair), leather/animal skin type clothing, usually wielding an over-sized sword, club or very mean looking axe, possibly capable or speaking German or French, with a slight Russian accent. Conan the Barbarian would be the best example in this regard.

For some odd reason, we see Vikings as an entirely different...er...barbarian. Thus, they should be excluded from this game group.

Not to be confused with Cavemen Protagonists.
