In the 2008 Guinness World Records Gamer's Edition, the first Tomb Raider movie is listed as the most successful film based on a video game, making $274,703,340 at cinemas worldwide. The least successful is the 2005 movie Alone in the Dark. The film earned $5,178,569 during its US theatrical run, but cost $20 million to make.
