World War I German fighter pilot Manfred Albrecht "Freiherr" von Richthofen, also known as The Red Baron, in a prominent role. Richthofen was the most successful flying ace of World War I, being officially credited with 80 confirmed air combat victories. He is commonly associated with the
Fokker Dr.I, which he flew in his last 20 victories and in which he was killed on 21 April 1918.
