Even though the game itself is quite easy, the multiplayer is strong and keeps you coming back for more. There are of course hidden unlockables to find and extend the life of the game. Overall, Nightfire is a huge treat for a true Bond and FPS fan. It will last you until the next stellar Bond game comes out with its ultra impressive multiplayer and in-game movies. I must add that I have played all the Nightfire versions fully through (GCN, PC, PS2 & Xbox) and I have found that not only is the Xbox version the easiest to get used to, but it does have slightly better graphics than the others. Add to that, the GameCube version has terrible controls and you come with the conclusion that you should buy the Xbox version of the game if you own more than one next-gen console.

When all is said and done, Nightfire is just somewhat of a disappointment for those expecting something significantly superior to last year's iteration. But with that said, Nightfire can just as easily be an addicting single-player experience, and the multiplayer is incredibly fun, especially with the Sentinel and mini vehicles, to boot. It's certainly one of the better first-person shooters for the system, but the series still has areas it can be improved upon.

While not the best first person shooter on the Xbox, Nightfire does an admirable job of capturing the essence of a Bond film and should please the majority of 007 fans. I know I'm stacking it in my "keeper" pile.

It's pretty amazing when you think about it. Developer Rare's GoldenEye came out for Nintendo 64 in 1997 and in the five years since, on more powerful next-generation consoles, competing software houses have still been unable to make a significantly better Bond first-person shooter. Look at publisher Electronic Arts' track record, though, and you'll know that it's not for lack of trying. The company has released several 007 follow-ups, a few of them noteworthy, but none of them good enough to officially dethrone Nintendo's gargantuan success of old.

The gameplay has been set up in such a way that you actually get the illusion of freedom: you get your objectives and you have to achieve them any way you see fit. But besides the great gameplay the game also has some nice graphics. you can actually see emotions on the models faces (in the cut-scenes) and everything looks pretty real (from a certain distance). But eventually the graphics didn't really matter in this game, it was the atmosphere it was able to create that made me sneak around each corner scared that a guard would see me and sound the alarm.

This is easily the best Bond game in recent years, and includes many advances over James Bond: Agent Under Fire which was released on PS2 by EA Games late last year. It must be said however that James Bond: Nightfire isn't quite up there with Goldeneye released on the Nintendo 64 way back in 1997, which in my opinion is much overrated in any case, but is very close. Were this game a bit longer then it would be a much more worthwhile purchase

Overall, 007 Nightfire is the best Bond game since Goldeneye. It is one of the better first person shooters on the market today, with only a few other titles beating it. A must have for Bond fans, and worth looking into for any action fan.

Okay, I have to admit this right here and right now--it has always been a girlhood fantasy of mine to be a Bond Girl. There is something about a suave, sophisticated British secret agent--that likes his vodka martinis shaken and not stirred--that is so appealing to a girl that she wouldn’t mind helping him stop some mad mastermind bent on ruling the world. Of course it helps if you have a weird name like Honey Dew. Either way, it’s fun to see James Bond back in action in 007: Nightfire.

NightFire is a fun Bond game. It's a hell of a solid 007 outing, too, whether it's a great first-person shooter or an enjoyable racer you're after. And yet, while I admire EA's decision to mingle several gameplay types into one package, I would have preferred it if NightFire were a first-person shooter and nothing else because frankly, that's where it excels.

Overall, Nightfire is an enjoyable game. It manages to weave a strong story line and capture many of the aspects that make the Bond franchise so enjoyable. Those in the market for an enjoyable single-player game should give Bond's latest a try. However, those looking for a rewarding, addictive multi-player experience may want to stick to TimeSplitters 2.

The James Bond franchise has had us hooked since the N4’s GoldenEye wowed us all, and Nightfire certainly continues to hold our interests in what’s to come next. However, Nightfire was a bit short, even though you could play the game at different difficulty levels. If you play through the game on the easier setting, it is worth it to go through the game on the harder settings, but you will still find that the game is relatively short, leaving you wishing for a few more levels to fulfill your craving for what the game does so well…entertain you while making you feel like the Bond man himself. If you were a fan of GoldenEye, but have felt that recent Bond titles have fallen short, pick up Nightfire for a recharge in what we hope will be a new era of Bond action.

007 Nightfire would easily have received a score near 9 if it were just longer. The multiplayer modes give the game some replay value, and the presentation is nearly cinematic. Highly recommended as a rental.

It's hard to get excited about another Bond game these days. To the jaded gamer, each new 007 title feels like a direct attempt to profit from Rare's groundbreaking GoldenEye by offering a cheap substitute. While EA Games certainly plans to profit from the James Bond license, it hasn't failed to whip up a surprisingly tasty single-player experience with worthwhile multiplayer action.

007 Nightfire is not a bad game at all – in fact; you’re in for a nice adventure. The single-player mode is fun and varied, and the multiplayer mode is solid, if a little lacking. Don’t hesitate to check it out if you’re longing for some James Bond action, or maybe just a new action game; it may be the best Bond title since Goldeneye 007.

In its previous 007 titles, EA banked more on the quality of the license than on the quality of its games. With NightFire, EA reverses that trend and deploys a solid first-person shooter. It's still not a landmark game, but it's at least a good one.

NightFire is a good solid action game that 007 fans will enjoy. It looks, sounds, and plays the best on the Xbox, so if you're looking for an interesting and fun alternative to the other FPS titles out there, NightFire is a sweet single-player experience with a decent amount of replayability. Twice as many stages would have been nice, but you'll come back for more and more if you're truly a wannabe spy at heart.

Nightfire is too short a game however, and that is my only big problem with it. Thus I only recommend that hardcore Bond fans buy this game, but for anyone else a rental is your best bet, as you can easily beat this game in one day of playing. That said however, I think Nightfire is the best Bond game in years and certainly should be played by anyone with a PS2

Anything can be penetrated with the right tool. Pierce Brosnan makes his debut on the PS2 in James Bond 007: NightFire. After enduring a somewhat tepid response to Agent Under Fire, EA is attempting to return the James Bond franchise to its former glory with NightFire, an original adventure that you won't see in the theaters, though its release coincides with MGM's new Bond film Die Another Day. NightFire captures the spirit of the films perfectly with its high-adrenal action and racy costars. Pierce Brosnan even lent his charming visage and smooth voice to this wonderfully filmic effort.

While NightFire is hurt by its relatively short length, the game's single-player mode is well constructed, and its multiplayer mode is good too. If you're a fan of multiplayer first-person shooters, NightFire has a nice selection of options, though a multiplayer-focused game like TimeSplitters 2 does a better job in this department. Those purely looking for a first-person shooter won't find that NightFire is the best choice around, but as a Bond game, NightFire successfully re-creates the style, presentation, and action of its source material.

NightFire looks great and plays well. The game is over all too soon, but it does own decent replay value and the multiplayer modes are a welcome addition. On the GameCube the performs very well -- much more so than the choppier PS2 title -- so forget about the minor Xbox aesthetic improvements because they don't really detract from the gameplay experience. NightFire offers 007 fans and action junkies alike a nice chance to get in on some global espionage, so be sure to check it out if this kind of game appeals.

Nightfire is a game full of payoffs; that is, it makes all the right moves in all the right places. But that’s all it does. If a game could be shoved through a cookie-cutter and placed on store shelves, NightFire would fit the bill perfectly. That being said, if I’m going to play a game built around focus-testing and corporate bureaucracy (“Gentlemen, we need a game that will make us a lot of money. Suggestions?” “How about a James Bond game that has something to do with nukes?” “Brilliant, Johnson! You’re getting a big raise!!”), I’m glad it’s from EA. Trite or no, this is a decent title from a company that has continually shown a tradition of gaming excellence.

James Bond never ages. He might have undergone a few facelift procedures over the last few decades, but 007 is still the man to call when evil power-crazed dictators are afoot. EA's new Bond game -- NightFire -- isn't based on the new hit movie flick -- Die Another Day -- but instead is an all-new spy escapade crafted by UK developer Eurocom. Its got the babes, the toys and the suave sophistication of any good Bond flick, but it falls down a little on the overall length of the game -- it's simply too short.

007: Nightfire is classic Bond at its best. Every aspect of the game just screams BOND, from the superb single-player to the addicting multi-player. This year's incarnation is every bit of fun as last year's. You'll quickly be drawn into the game as you flip through your Q-gadgets and arsenal of weaponry while infiltrating enemy bases. The wide assortment of items at your disposal makes Nightfire also very strategic.

PlayStation 2Pelit
Nightfiren konsoli-inkarnaatio eroaa PC-sisaruksestaan yllättävän paljon. Suurin ero on autoiluosuuksien mukanaolo.

James Bond 007: Nightfire is by no means a bad game, nor is it a great game. It’s a very mediocre title that was released during a strong flow of game releases, but in the James Bond world Nightfire is above average; better than AUF, but still not as good as Goldeneye.

Nightfire is exactly what I expected it would be. Full of Bond clichés and all of the predictability one would expect from the franchise, it's an unsurprising yet satisfying revisiting of the GoldenEye 007 gamplay formula. A little more challenge, depth, and length with the trimming of the lame on-rails levels would have made this one a near classic. As it is, though, it's an above-average shooter with just enough variety and charm to make the familiar trip worth your time.

Nightfire has flaws aplenty but, regardless of the not-so-good graphics and poor controls, this is still a good first-person shooter that GBA gamers should definitely own. With interesting levels that throw many bonuses into the mix and an assortment of fun 007 gadgets to play with, the game is certainly true to the console game it was ported from.

NightFire isn't a bad shooter on the Game Boy Advance, because it's challenging and it features a lot of great ideas in graphic engines and character behavior on the handheld system. But a little more attention in character movement and hit detection would have made this Bond a much better product.

There are so few FPS on the GBA, I don't know how I could refuse to give this game a spin. Even with a crowded field on the consoles, Nightfire is still one of my favorite FPS of the current generation. Yet, the GBA version lags behind other shooters in the fun department, mainly due to the difficulty and control issues. If you can look past the shortcomings, Nightfire should whet your appetite until GoldenEye is released on the Nintendo DS.

Sure, it makes a few mistakes along the way and it's certainly not the greatest FPS game around at the moment, but NightFire is easily the best non-GoldenEye Bond outing since TWINE on the N64. Well worth a look, even if you're not a huge Bond fan.
