Don't get me wrong, this ain't a bad game at all. In fact, it's exactly the kind of huge, creepy adventure I wish there were more of for home consoles. It's just a lot harder to work through than it could be.

The programmers have foolishly overloaded AITD 2 with dozens of difficult arcade fighting sequences. There's still some fun to be had here, but at least as much frustration. Let's hope that Interplay brings over Alone in the Dark 3, with the best gameplay and graphics of the trilogy.
