Space Hulk not only lends strategy to the boring corridor category, but enough carnage to fill buckets with flying parts as well. These are perhaps the best graphics seen on the 3DO and the game plays very well, possessing a certain feel all it's own. SH is definitely an original title. There is little pixelization even when up close and the Land Sharks on steroids art is a welcome sight after that hyper idiotic Immercenary pain. A must buy for 3DO owners.

Like any other game of this type, the action can get a little repetitive and I wish there were a few more different kinds of enemies. However, there's a whole lot of different kinds of missions and the (mostly rendered) graphics look really great. All in all, this is nicely done.

Atmosphere is the name of the game when talking about shooters such as these. Alien vs. Predator had it, although it's gameplay was a little diluted, but Space Hulk is right on target. If you're a 3DO owner, make sure to check this one out.

If Space Hulk were faster and less complicated, it might have been a truly formidable 3DO action disc. But throwing technical missions and multiple Terminators into the fray only serves to clog the alien homicide with hulking gameplay. If you want to think before you shoot - and think a lot - then maybe this Blood's for you.

I like this game from what I could see of it. It took a lot of maneuvering just to stay alive long enough to review it. The game has a great eerie feel and the graphics complement it rather well. Still, I have to comment on the incredible frustration I went through to play it. Even from the very start, you will die in a matter of seconds. It takes a long time to master your crew and learn how to position them. Definitely a game for the advanced player who has a lot of patience.

Unfortunately, the frame-rate is lousy, and consequently navigating the hallways is more awkward than it should be. The well-designed creatures look fearsome (especially up close), and blasting them results in a generous amount of blood sprayed over the walls. I gave it a chance, but to be honest, Space Hulk is not my kind of game. I like the concept of issuing orders to the other robots and working as a team, but that's easier said than done. The game favors strategy over mindless shooting, and there's a major learning curve involved. In addition, the robots move slowly, and the gameplay seems to drag at times. I was able to complete some of the early missions, but as the objectives grew more complex, Space Hulk started to give me a headache. Only the most patient gamers will be able to fully appreciate this one.
