The Video Game Critic
Still, Wing Commander 3 is enjoyable once you finally get comfortable with the controls. On the downside, the game crashed on me once (memory allocation error), and the video clips become a bit monotonous after a while ("That's some pretty slick flying sir!"). It clearly had to be shoehorned onto the 3DO, but Wing Commander III is an engaging science fiction epic that's a real pleasure to experience.
Video Games & Computer Entertainment
All in all, the story and special effects are breathtaking and the gameplay addictive. Wing Commander III is absolutely a must-play.
All Game Guide
In my opinion, Wing Commander III: Heart of the Tiger is the best of the series, incorporating an epic galactic war and a storyline worthy of a movie. The action is fast and furious and requires a bit of thinking as well.
Electronic Gaming Monthly (EGM)
Wing Commander 3 is a good game for the PC. As a 3DO game, it's just as good. The graphics are awesome and the full-motion video is the crispest, cleanest I have ever seen. I know that FMV can just go flush itself, but it's quite entertaining in WC3 because of the complex story. The interface is very simple and a novice flight player can really get into it. If only the flight steering wasn't so sensitive, dog fighting would have been less of a headache. A good sci-fi game anyway.
