Wolfenstein 3D

Wolfenstein 3D is definitely an excellent version of ID's original masterpiece, with the exception of a few minor cosmetic changes that will not affect the gameplay whatsoever. Overall, Wolfenstein plays very well. With the ability to have extra weapons, such as the Rocket Launcher, you will have no choice, but to have a good time. Besides having crisp graphics and great sound, 60 levels make Wolfenstein a perfect game for anybody's nostalgia collection.

While other 3DO first-person shooters may offer more dynamic characters and weapons or alien environments to fight in, Wolfenstein 3D appears to be the most solid and fun to play in its sweet simplicity. Combined with the exciting music and huge amount of levels, the adjustable difficulties give this a massive amount of replay value, while attempting to beat the par time for each level, getting 100% kills, items and secrets will take forever. But you'll enjoy every minute of it.

Although it joins a genre that's starting to look tired, Wolfenstein 3-D is a very entertaining translation of the PC title. If you found Doom too intense, give this one a try.

Wolfenstein 3D n'est autre que l'adaptation en 3D de Castle Wolfenstein, un ancien jeu sur Apple II vieux de près de 15 ans. Le principe est on ne peut plus simple. Vous déambulez dans les couloirs d'un repère nazi, une arme à la main. Tuez-en le plus possible, ramassez les munitions, les armes (il en existe de 4 sortes) et trouvez la sortie. Ce CD comprend les 30 missions originales sur lesquelles viennent s'ajouter une foule de nouveaux stages. Le maniement est agréable, les bruitages excellents et l'animation correcte. Ce jeu reste très simpliste, un peu trop d'ailleurs, comparé à Doom que l'on attend toujours avec impatience.
