Also, my personal favorite way to play is co-op with a friend. I couldn’t be more happy they decided to add it to the game. Call up a friend and dodge some bullets together for maximum fun. Despite there only being 6 levels the game’s length feels decent, making 8Bit Commando a reasonable value at a little over 6 dollars. That’s about the price of one of those fancy coffees, so if you’re into this style, just drink the cheap stuff tomorrow. Call a friend, buy this game, tear your shirts off and let the macho-shooting begin!
This one’s a diamond in the rough. If you’re old enough to remember games like Green Beret and Rockman (Megaman), then you’ll probably love 8-bit Commando. With a bit of spit and polish, and a tad more content, this would have earned Gold.
The game itself plays something like Journey to Silius and Metal Slug with a little bit of Battletoads thrown in. It’s run and gun. You run. Then you gun. Any questions?
An entry into 2011's Independent Games Festival, 8-Bit Commando is a challenging and well designed tribute to a time when games didn't hold your hands!

The game looks lovely. It's all very clear with characters moving smoothly against backgrounds and a good sense of the tongue in cheek fun that always existed.
