Agent Armstrong

Agent Armstrong is divided into thirty levels and amazingly each mission is dissimilar to the rest. However the gameplay remains the same throughout - running around shooting everyone, collecting power ups to sustain your life and completing each task before your health bar runs down. I found it a little difficult to successfully jump over hazards due to the ommision of shadowing which can be quite frustrating when you know it is not your fault. Overall a good arcade shooter in the Loaded mould.

Agent Armstrong jest grą wprowadzającą nowy powiew wśród pecetowych platformówek. Każda kolejna gra z tego gatunku będzie miała ciężki orzech do zgryzienia, bo wyznacznikiem w tej dziedzinie stał się właśnie Agent Armstrong. Piękna i zabawna produkcja.

Sollten Sie Wert auf anständige Grafiken legen, lassen Sie von Agent Armstrong lieber gleich die Finger – hier pixelt es an allen Ecken und Enden ziemlich grob. Wer jedoch schon lange kein simples Ballerspiel mehr auf der Festplatte hatte, wird einigermaßen gut bedient. Vor allem die unterschiedlichen Primär- und Sekundärziele haben mich längerfristig motiviert. Allerdings nervt die zu ungenaue Kollisionsabfrage von Armstrong ganz gehörig. Der angebliche Top-Spion stolpert ständig über kleinste Hindernisse oder plumpst versehentlich von Plattformen.

Hüpf-Einlagen in die tödliche Tiefe, wobei jeder Fehltritt ein Sturz ins kühle Naß oder hinab in steile Abgründe bedeutet, treiben mich zur Verzweiflung. Letzlich wäre da noch die ungenaue Steuerung, die meinen Superhelden viel zu oft in herumliegende Tretminen und feindliches Feuer stolpern läßt.

AA doesn't make a breakthrough or even establish itself as a standard, due to some niggly failings; graphical and gameplay. Graphically, the colourful and detailed appearance is let down by some thoughtless touches. The gameplay is marred by difficulties in judging the depth of the character in the playfield, and the inability to run and fire at the same time. Flawed but fun.
