With killer graphics and animation, an awesome soundtrack, and gripping game play, Aggressive Inline sucks you in and never lets go. I usually recommend a game of this nature to extreme sports fans only. But after my week-long venture with this game, you “baseball and football only” gamers need to take a good long look at this game and you need to do it now. The way I see it, we have a new king of next-gen skaters.

XboxGame Chronicles
Aggressive Inline is about as close to perfection as it gets and pretty much annihilates everything currently available in the genre. The gameplay is simple yet complex and quite addictive. The levels are so large they border on intimidating, yet it never gets dull exploring them thoroughly. And with a dozen skaters, hundreds of tricks, and infinite combinations of trick lines and combos, this is one of those rare games that has no end. Sure you can “complete” it, but you will never “finish” it.

PlayStation 2Gaming Target
While most extreme games are already getting a bit long in the tooth (though I admit THPS 4 looks to change that, hopefully), Aggressive Inline not only does something different, it does something to surpass anything else out there. The game simply does everything right in the gameplay department, and creates a fully enjoyable game that can become so addictive that you might forget pee breaks and sleeping. It’s a fairly large game that needs many hours just to complete the game with one character, so settle in for a very lengthy playing experience. Anyone bored of Tony Hawk should give this one a try – because Aggressive Inline is as good of a sleeper hit as there possibly can be.

Aggressive Inline is a must-have game. I know that fall is just around the corner, and that most of you will be going back to school soon, but before most of your free time is taken away, buy Aggressive Inline. Anyone who likes Tony Hawk or any of its clones will love this game. Even if you've never played an extreme sports game before, give this one a shot.

All the right elements that make a great extreme sports title is present in Aggressive Inline and with hundreds of challenges and plenty of levels this is an investment worth the price of admission.

PlayStation 2Deaf Gamers
Aggressive Inline is definitely as good as any title in the extreme sports genre at the moment. The game is huge in scale (and there is a Park Editor to create your own levels if you eventually get bored), entertaining to play, a delight to control and difficult to put down. With the fourth instalment of the THPS series in the works Z-Axis have thrown down the gauntlet to Neversoft with Aggressive Inline and that can only be good news for fans of the genre.

Aggressive Inline does what no one expected and that is dethroning Activision’s Pro Skater franchise as the best in the extreme sports genre. Of course if it weren’t for Tony this game would not even exist but sorry Tony “Trix are for kids!” err… wait, wrong cereal. If you love the Tony Hawk games then go buy Aggressive Inline this very moment, it’s worth every penny.

PlayStation 2IGN
While Tony Hawk and SSX have ruled the PlayStation 2 roost, the time has come for a new challenger, and Aggressive Inline is ripped, buffed, and ready for the fight. Aggressive Inline is deep, layered, and dense with stuff to do, and it's backed up with an enormously thick network of lines on which to shred.
93
PlayStation 2PSX Extreme
After spending much time in front of the screen with Aggressive Inline, I can safely say that this is (along side SSX) is easily Tony Hawk's biggest challenge. It may very well be that by the second 'Inline title, we may see Tony Hawk dethroned. Visually it's not jaw dropping, but it gets the job done and looks fine. The game plays superbly well, otherwise I wouldn't be giving it this glowing review. The modes of play and career mode are incredibly good, not to mention diverse and one of a kind. And while the soundtrack disappoints, the rest of the game is a dream come true, especially for me. Extreme sports fans, and all inline skaters, I urge every last one of you to purchase Aggressive Inline right this very moment!
92
PlayStation 2Atomic Gamer
While the soundtrack is a bit disappointing, that's about the worst thing I could find with this game. It's got some hilarious moments, great ways to do lots of tricks, huge levels, and a tight control scheme. There's not much more you could hope for.
92
GameCubeGameSpy
There's plenty to do in Aggressive Inline and it's done better than in any extreme sports game before it. The massive levels provide a vast variety of objectives to complete, the combo-driven gameplay is tight and responsive, the multitude of dynamic environments is a breath of fresh air, and there are plenty of hidden secrets to discover. If you could never figure out what the big deal was with the Tony Hawk franchise it won't convert you, but those looking for their next extreme sports fix will be rewarded with the best the genre has to offer.
92
XboxGameSpy
Aggressive Inline raises the bar for the entire extreme sports genre. Huge levels, stunning graphics, and novel gameplay innovations mean that no future extreme title will be able to get away with a couple of bowls, a rail, and a handful of challenges. If your extreme gaming is becoming extremely predictable and tired, it might be time to lace up these skates.
92
PlayStation 2Game Over Online
Aggressive Inline innovates on the established dynamics that Tony Hawk created and manages to dethrone THPS3 in more than a few areas. The RPG-based experience system, for example, and the ability to land vert-tricks on flat ground straight-up rocks. What else? Let's see, the crazy grind-maneuvers feel like a mix between Jet Set Radio Future and the best of Tony Hawk 3, the ability to swing on poles has to be seen to be believed, and the juice-meter is a stroke of genius. In short, Aggressive Inline will more than tide-over gamers until Tony Hawk 4 is released.

Xbox4Players.de

If you love the extreme sports genre, this game is an absolute must. It's a ton of fun and will suck away so many hours all your friends will think you've died. Unless you don't have friends and then no one will notice except your dog who really needs to go walkies. Though the gameplay in is a little bit better than Hawk the little things AI is missing keep it from getting a higher mark.

GameCubeIGN
When it comes to extreme sports freestyle videogames, there is Tony Hawk's Pro Skater and then there is everything else. Or at least that's the way it's always been. But development studio Z-Axis, which delivered a formidable entry into the genre with its Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX 2 has refused to be labeled second best and its latest effort may have finally succeeded in dethroning Activision's now-classic series.

PlayStation 2Electric Playground
Engaging, fun and beautiful, Aggressive Inline hits it right on almost every note. More the pinnacle of innovation for this genre than a revolutionary new development, the game nevertheless feels like uncharted territory just begging for exploration, even though there's nothing here you haven't seen in every other extreme alternative. It's both a testament to the care lavished upon this project, and an important reminder: One need not always shoot for the stars...sometimes, just aiming for the sky is more than enough.

PlayStation 2Cheat Code Central
In the end, Agg Inline is a lot like the games that have come before it, but it's the little changes that set it apart, actually improving the entire genre. There are aspects of Agg Inline that I'd like to see adopted in every Xtreme sports game, but of course, that would be stealing; unless of course it was a Z-Axis game. If you think Agg Inline might not be your cup of tea because it doesn't feature BMX bikes or skateboards, think again. This is simply a great game that you won't beat in a weekend.

The best part of Aggressive Inline, however, is the simple controls that enable you to pull off tons of grabs, grinds, vaults, swings, and flips. Aggressive Inline is remarkable on any platform, and playing it on the GameCube is no exception.

Aggressive Inline doesn’t just offer stuff to do, but stuff to figure out. In between all the death-defying skating stunts, you’ll solve some tricky puzzles and challenges that offer a real sense of accomplishment, not to mention some unusual trick lines. Pro riders, licensed gear, and extremely large but dense indoor/outdoor levels (including an exclusive Xbox zoo) give the game a sense of scope and realism. You’ll discover tons of trick lines on every level, plus a few innovations you won’t find in other games (such as swinging around poles). There’s a nice tutorial, but if you’re familiar with action sports games at all, the controls will feel comfortable immediately.

There is no doubt that skate fans will praise the Gaming Gods for bringing them a great game and Aggressive Inline is just one of those games worthy of praise. With all the right elements that make an incredible skating experience--including great graphics and decent controls--this is a game that should be in any sport’s fans library.

While it may not have a legendary name like Tony Hawk behind it, Aggressive Inline does have an addictive and creative gameplay style that everyone can enjoy. Aside from the usual jump-trick combo gameplay, Inline contains innovative character actions that make virtual roller skating even more enjoyable to play. Moreover, the control scheme is simple to learn, easy to execute, and fun to master.

Overall the game is completely rewarding and it's the little things that make the game so darn satisfying. Aggressive Inline is truly a breath of fresh air for the gaming community and shouldn't go unnoticed. At least this is a rental, but I highly recommend a full purchase here. The game is just all out fun. With seemingly endless combos and tricks, the game will surely go the distance. Add in a friend and the game goes to a whole new level.

I have nothing but praise for Aggressive Inline, as it's possibly one of the more underrated games made for this great console, of ours. But possibly those who rated it poorly saw the glitches from a worse angle than myself, but this is certainly an essential title if you're not a fan of Tony Hawk.

This brings up an interesting question: Should Full Fat have tried to more closely duplicate the console experience for the handheld? Though many readers feel the answer is “yes”, I for one think that the game might have otherwise fallen short. The way things stand, most players can justify owning both the console and handheld versions of Aggressive Inline. The fast paced play and tight courses in this version are suitable (in my opinion) to a ‘Game Boy state of mind’.

Neversoft had teamed up with Activision to deliver Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, which eschewed skateboarding realism for fast, well-defined gameplay. And California-based Z-Axis had teamed up with Rockstar Games to develop a skateboarding game of their own, called Thrasher: Skate and Destroy. Thrasher had a similar goal-based, time-limited structure, but the gameplay and control were far more rooted in reality. Needless to say, the Tony Hawk series blew up and spawned an entire line of similar products for Activision. Z-Axis blossomed on its own, moving from Rockstar to Acclaim and moving from skateboarding to BMX biking by developing the deeper-than-most Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX series. Now, after a few years of moderate success, Z-Axis and Acclaim have branched out to inline skating with Aggressive Inline, an excellent game that both borrows from previous alternative sports games and sets out in a new direction that will more than likely be copied by future games.

All in all, this game has everything, but some problems do exist. There are some minor glitches that need tweaking, like when you find your skater standing sideways on something. Minor, yes, but it still could have been fixed. Multiplayer modes are creative, such as a form of skater blackjack and animal hunts throughout certain levels. Z-Axis has done a fine job in this game, and I rather enjoyed myself playing it.

And as long as we're talking about what's definite, let's get right down to the concluding fact: this game belongs in your collection if you're looking for another good extreme skater and the release of Tony's next game seems too distant. Aggressive Inline is a stellar package worth the $50 you'll likely have to spend to make it yours. It's highly recommended at that price, and the recommendation only grows stronger the lower the price goes. Hopefully, we'll get to see a sequel.

Aggressive Inline is a well-made intelligently constructed stunt game that shows imagination and craft. Aggressive Inline has made it to several of the Next Generation systems with some success. Though the control functions are different on the X-Box due to the way that the controller is built, the fun is still there no matter which of the versions that you’re playing. The amount of tricks and the sheer size of the stages should be enough for anyone to sink their teeth into while waiting for another extreme sports game to appear on the market. As it has been said before, you really don’t need a copy of this game if you already have it on another system such as the PS2 or the Game Cube. If you like the inline skating world and you like to score huge points with some pretty amazing tricks, then Aggressive Inline is your game no matter what system you find it on!

Overall I found the game fun, there are a few unlockable characters and FMV sequences, but just not on the level of Tony Hawk or Dave Mirra BMX. I guess it’s because I just don’t think having wheels attached to your feet is as balls to the wall as skateboarding or BMX. I had fun playing it for the first 2 hours, but my interest went downhill (pun intended!) after that. Some of you will love it, others hate it, but that is the way with gaming today!

he quality of music in this game blew my mind. The songs have vocals! The gameplay was far less astounding. Things like jumping out of grinds and simple navigation are a little rough around the edges, but cool tricks abound. It's a shame there's no battery backup to save progress – which means this is a long trip game, rather than a porcelain pit stop game. Aggressive Inline sits somewhere in the middle of all the extreme sports miniatures on the GBA.

Once again, Full Fat takes us into an isometric perspective with inclusive environments that would suit the taste of any skater. Keeping up with the crowd of extreme sports games, Aggressive Inline features ramps, rails, light posts, building structures, and even cars that can be used to perform tricks. Most of this is reminiscent of Dave Mirra 2, and while there are a few slight improvements, it remains obvious that not much has advanced since last year.

Game Boy AdvanceGameSpot
Aggressive Inline for the Game Boy Advance is only vaguely comparable to the console game it's based on. The basic feel is identical, right down to the controls, trick system, and soundtrack, but there are a multitude of changes in other areas that make this game less like the game you've been playing on your PS2, GameCube, or Xbox, and more like the typical extreme sports games you'd find in the GBA section at your local store.

So, Aggressive Inline's no Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3, but it's got some solid gameplay and a lot of visual flair. In fact, it's the best of the Hawk's wannabes. You'll certainly get your money's worth in terms of challenges, unlockable secrets and extras, too. Short of using the trike, the unicycle and the penny-farthing, that's all the extreme sports done now, right? Can we have a break, then? No? Damn.

The levels are HUGE. Besides what is available from the start, there is also hidden areas that hold the secrets of the level, such as Dr. Frankie's Lab in the Movie Lot level. Oftentimes there will be 25 or more mission objectives to complete before a level is done, and that is besides the powerups. Perhaps the most amazing part of the game is the arcade-like feel to it. You are equipped with a juice bar, a health meter of sorts, that tells you your power and your speed. If you crash, besides shedding a little , you also lose a little off your meter, making it in your best interest NOT to crash.

The levels are huge, similar in size to Dave Mirra 2 but with a lot more to interact with, you can swing from poles to reach higher places and talking to people opens up plenty of challenges to keep you busy - completing every level in AI will take you an age, whether it'll keep you interested that long is the problem.
70
Game Boy AdvanceIGN
Aggressive Inline's design focuses on grinding, more so than other extreme sports games. Instead of having a "special" meter, the developers worked a unique "grind" meter in its place...this bar is filled by pulling off basic air tricks, and it doesn't take much to max it out. As long as you've got color in that bar, you can pull off grind moves without bailing. No grind meter, no grinding. The one console element that the design team did incorporate in the GBA version: you can switch grinds on the fly. It's actually encouraged, since your trick combo will increase with every switch during a grind. With this grind focus, there are a lot of connecting rails to ride and discover.
70
XboxPro-G
The main innovation in Aggressive Inline is the juice meter. Just as in Tony Hawk's, Aggressive Inline features a meter that fills up as you perform tricks. When it is full your top speed increases and your special tricks become available. This all sounds very Tony Hawk's-like, but the difference comes from a lack of time limit. In Aggressive Inline you can continue in the environment until your juice meter runs out, meaning that you can in theory skate forever.

Game Boy AdvanceThe Next Level
It’s a shame the gameplay was not quite as good as the technical achievements, but it still holds up quite well overall. It’s impressive for what it does with a handheld, and the building of grind combos and score challenges is quite fun, but the lack of a battery save or any way to keep track of immediate progress ultimately kills it in the long run. If only the control had been tighter and the challenges a bit more lenient, this game would be leagues better. It should still keep anyone interested in the title happy, although it seems to hold closer to the old Tony Hawks in execution then it does its big brother on console.

XboxTeamXbox
The park builder is a nice, if notably tacked on feature and if the game has any flaw, it's that the action, as with most sport titles, can become mundane, tedious and repetitive despite the effort to throw in extended variation with an ample supply of over the top and varied challenges. Yet, even if you're not into what seems to be an extreme sports revolution these days with the media almost screaming alternative sports into our ears as the increasingly less rare sport of extreme inline skating becomes ever more popular you'll still find Aggressive Inline to be a solid, well crafted and rewarding game. Next to Hawk, it's the best extreme sports title on the Xbox.
65
Game Boy AdvanceGameZone
Even with all of its flaws, Aggressive Inline GBA isn't that bad of a game. It's not at all what I expected, nor does it live up to the Aggressive Inline name, but the controls are pretty easy to use, and the levels -- although extremely small -- are not half bad. I know that games are expected to be more than just a time-killer, but if you need something to help pass time in class--(ahem), I mean on the ride from school, Aggressive Inline is not a bad buy.
