With different controller schemes at your fingertips, Air Force Delta Storm can be set up to your personal liking. The controls are very basic, so anyone should be able to pick up the controller and start flying immediately. One of the biggest things that you need to remember is that once you leave your base, you are on your own. What this means is that you may need to conserve your missiles in the mini-missions so that you don't run low while on the main objectives. Keep this in mind and you should be all right. Air Force Delta Storm is a solid title and anybody into flight sims should pick this one up. Others may want to rent, because even with over 50 missions, replay value is limited since this is a single-player only game.

Xbox Exclusive
If you liked Top Gun, After Burner, or other arcade jet combat games, you should give Air Force Delta Storm a whirl. And if you already have and enjoy Air Force Delta for Dreamcast, this game is worthy of a purchase, adding lots of new missions, aircraft, and a souped up graphic/sound engine to boot.

While some people would prefer more control over there planes, the arcade style controls allow anyone to jump right in and start playing. The combination of outstanding sound and passing graphics make this a game that shouldn't be overlooked. Fans of the DC version should definitely take notes as very little has changed from the previous entry in the series gameplay wise. Definitely recommended.

The world of PC combat flight sims has been remarkable over the past several years, and with the advent of the graphical capabilities of the Xbox, one would have thought that this console system could challenge in terms of game play. Perhaps it will, but not with AirForce Delta Storm. It is a good arcade game. The flight elements may lack realism, but there is plenty of action to entertain fans of this arcade genre.

Overall I really enjoyed Airforce Delta Storm and worth your money. It might be a renter, if you are not sure. But honestly, it’s a huge pile of fun!

Gaming Target
Airforce Delta Storm is not the worst aerial combat game out there, but I wouldn’t recommend to the average gamer. Like me, the tiresome gameplay would make it a very short-lived gaming experience. This title does have a lot to offer though, with a huge variety of missions and selectable jets. Hopefully, the next version will feature a more user-friendly way of taking down your foes.

Like some of the other Xbox launch games, AirForce Delta Storm's strength is clearly in its visuals. This isn't a bad game at all, but it'll likely appeal only to ardent fans of the genre.

Game Informer Magazine
Airforce Delta Storm not only plays like the similarly named game Konami launched with Dreamcast, it looks like it as well. This is currently your only air combat choice on Xbox, but I would think something better will soon be along.

I wasn't very familiar with the first Air Force Delta game on the Dreamcast so I was able to come into Storm with a relatively open mind. But I do know that the DC had lots technology demos masquerading as games early in its lifecycle and that appears to be the case here. The gameplay comes across as an afterthought because it's barely there. The lack of features is the other dead give away that AFDS is better watched than played.

Le premier jeu d'avions de la Xbox n'est malheureusement pas très convaincant. Faute de concurrence, les accros pourront toujours tenter le coup, quant aux autres, ils feraient quand même mieux d'attendre un titre plus passionnant.

The gameplay, however, isn't anything that hasn't been done already, and the paint-by-numbers seek-and-destroy missions can get pretty dull after a couple of hours. Delta's a worthy sortie for rookies, but combat vets should study the intel before committing to this mission.

Over all, this is a mediocre game. While I really, really enjoy collecting the fighter planes available in this game, I could always start a new Micro Machines collection. Although I might rent this once in a long while, if I were really looking for "lite" fighter sim, I wouldn’t add this to my collection unless it was a gift. All I ultimately have to say is this: Why can’t they make really good launch titles? Why?

AirForce Delta Storm looked really good from some screens and movies, and previews and reviews, but I guess, it’s one of those games that can look good, but be really bad…I just hope this will not be the case with Unreal Championship. If you like flight-simulators, this may be the game for you, and my recommendation is rent it first. When I first bought my XBOX, I though I’d get this game, but after playing it for 40 minutes, I realise that I made a good choice by not getting it then, and renting it first.

Gaming Age
The Xbox might not have a platter full of AAA titles to choose from, but there are certainly better choices than what Konami has to offer with Air Force Delta Storm. Gamers are better off waiting for the freakish, horrific and stomach churningly good Silent Hill 2: Restless Dreams on the machine when it arrives in the coming weeks.

Game Revolution
Airforce Delta Storm is not fatally flawed; it's just not that much fun. Even with all of its high-flying graphical merits, this is one game that's best left on the shelf. You might want to rent it, but I'd rather watch Firefox again.
