Voor het overige is Airline Tycoon eigenlijk een uitgebreid bordspel dat zeker wel aanhangers zal hebben door z'n grappige presentatie en zijn originele concept. alleen erg jammer van de crashbug in het spel, die een echte plaag kan zijn! Hopen op een patch zeker?

Ansonsten ist Airline Tycoon ein recht typischer Vertreter der Economy-Klasse: Ob Sie nun LKW-Transporte (Der Planer), Fernseh-Serien (Mad TV) oder eben Linienflüge auf einem Kalender verteilen, macht spielerisch kaum einen Unterschied. Sieht toll aus, ist witzig animiert und enthält mehr originelle Kleinigkeiten als ein Karton Überraschungseier: Die ersten 10-15 Stunden werden Sie mit Airline Tycoon viel Spaß haben, danach entwickelt sich die Routenplanung leider zur Routinenplanung.

Un titre sympathique mais qui devient malheureusement trop vite lassant. L’ambiance qui y règne permettra de passer néanmoins d’agréables moments en vulgarisant le caractère purement gestionnaire du jeu.

Qua graphics, gameplay etcetera is Airline Tycoon weinig spectaculair. De game ziet er uit als een kinderspelletje, maar is voor hen te moeilijk. Of er echt een doelgroep voor deze game is, vraag ik me dan ook af. Toch maar wachten tot er een degelijke vliegtuigmaatschappij-sim op de markt komt.

Sicher, die sechs Missionen sind für eine Weile durchaus reizvoll, die meisten Aktivitäten werden allerdings bald zur Routine. Airline Tycoon ressemble à un jeu Bullfrog mais il n'est pas aussi amusant que les ancêtres dont il s'inspire pourtant ouvertement. C'est en effet une compagnie aérienne qu'il faut gérer, pas un aéroport, et le gameplay s'en ressent : les tableaux de chiffres se multiplient et réduisent l'environnement drôlatique de l'aéroport à une simple toile de fond sur laquelle il est impossible d'intervenir. Un jeu répétitif et lassant qu'on ne trouvera riche qu'à la seule condition de s'y investir à fond, en bon businessman.

Spellbound's Airline Tycoon is a real-time management simulation which puts you in control of your own airline. At the beginning of the game, you have to choose from 4 characters the one you want to be as well as the Airline you want to manage. Step by step during the game, the Airport Manager will give you several missions you will have to complete before your 3 competitors.The action of the game take place in an Airport, in which you will find all the necessary tools and people to support you. Your goal in Airline Tycoon is to be the best among the 4 players involved in the game. The game features cartoon graphics, 16 missions, 26 different types of aircrafts, 29 locations with funny animations, 48 airports and over 200 different routes.

The overall aim is to keep your company running smoothly. This can be done by either making deals with clients and distributors (petrol, food and so on) over the phone, or by walking around the airport and dealing with these conveniently situated people face to face. As if this wasn't boring and infuriating enough, your best planes, which you can construct yourself, seem to be constantly grounded by bad weather. If you have a six-year-old child then maybe they'll find some enjoyment in AT's patronising, dull, repetitive and overly simplistic gameplay. You on the other hand, will not. Maybe one day we'll see a decent airline tycoon game. Sadly, though, it's not today.
