3DO EUROPE TO PUBLISH ALEX FERGUSON'S PLAYER MANAGER 2001 FOR PLAYSTATION 2 AND PC CD-ROM IN SEPTEMBER 2001

3DO Europe has announced the release of the eagerly-awaited Alex Ferguson's Player Manager 2001 for PlayStation 2 and PC CD-ROM for September, in time for the new football season.

On top of an all-new game engine, groundbreaking changes and revolutionary features are being programmed into Alex Ferguson's Player Manager 2001 to enhance the menu system, speed up the pace and accessibility of in-game options and offer a totally realistic feel to that build up of tension to match day.

"It's really important for us to capitalise on the new football season and a release date falling in September will do just that," commented Paul Patterson, Managing Director, 3DO Europe. "This is a Premier League title for us and we're extremely confident that it's going to perform well throughout the season and well into 2002."

New player motion captures, new player models and dynamics and stadium environments will deliver true-to-life representations of player tactics as each game is played in real-time, while enhanced post-match statistics will give an at-a-glance guide to how well those tactics worked.

All these innovative features have been topped off with unique game content input and an in-game end of season evaluation as a Player Manager from Ferguson himself.

"Player Manager 2001 gives a real insight into what management is all about," commented Alex Ferguson.

Alex Ferguson's Player Manager 2001 will be published by 3DO Europe for PlayStation 2 and PC CD-ROM in September 2001.

In a concerted effort to release the title to PlayStation Player Managers in time for Christmas, the game developers at Anco were working on an all-new state of the art engine for Alex Ferguson's Player Manager 2001 even before its predecessor hit the streets in April.

On top of an all-new game engine, over 50 major changes and new features are being programmed into Alex Ferguson's Player Manager 2001 to enhance the menu system, speed up the pace and accessibility of in-game options and offer a totally realistic feel to that build up of tension to match day.

Alex Ferguson's Player Manager 2001 will be published by 3DO Europe for PlayStation on 24th November, priced £29.99. PS2 and PC CD-ROM versions will also be published in early 2001.
