Trivia

Allister Brimble, responsible for sound on Alien Breed, tells in an interview at AGDB: "The Alien death sound effects were actually sampled newly born kittens, mutated on my sampler with an explosion added!"

The "funny" text in the program's library are actually things you can type in while on the in-game "computer" screen. Some of these are cheats but most of the them simply respond with messages on the screen (like what the developers thought of each of the listed magazines, for example).

This game was a smash hit on the Amiga platform, followed on that system not only by Tower Assault as listed here on Mobygames but also a 1st-person shooter creatively titled Alien Breed 3D. This last one was considered the "Doom Killer" for the Amiga by users frustrated that id's classic was never ported to their beloved computer.
