Alien Virus

Un bon jeu qui mettra le joueur dans l'ambiance des films sans que l'aspect visuel soit le plus beau du monde. Mais ce soft est vraiment intéressant. Dommage que sa sortie soit si proche d'Aliens de chez Cryo.

Puzzle solvers and point-and-clickers will thrill over Alien Virus, but they won't be coming back for more with it's one-time playthrough. Still, if aliens were after you, this would be the game to prepare for it.

Lovers of adventure games will relish AV, whereas action mongers will no doubt find it slow and extremely tedious.

Wenn nur dieses Rumgeklicke nicht wäre! Vieles an der Steuerung ist bei Alien Virus nicht gut gelöst, zum Beispiel dann, wenn man das Cockpit des Raumschiffs verlassen möchte und das winzige Icon im Bordfenster mit dem Mauskreuz partout nicht finden will. Für derartige Nervereien entschädigen jedoch grafische Bonbons wie die gelungenen Animation des putzigen Info-Roboters. Für Fans!

As for the story and graphic, there's really not much to be said. The story is like any horror script in space with a lost group of people and alien monsters, and you know how it will end before you get halfway through the game. Even so, the game is fun and challenging with nice dark scenes that look ominous and scary, just like it should be.

An eerie plot and sleek interface just aren't enough to make up for this game's other weaknesses.

Obwohl Alien Virus bei Profis keine allzugroßen Kopfschmerzen hervorrufen dürfte, besteht für Einsteiger und Fortgeschrittene durchaus latente Ansteckungsgefahr.

Alien Virus was released about five years ago and is interesting mainly in that it allows us to see how far the developers, Trecision, have come in a short time. After this game they went on to produce Ark of Time followed by Nightlong: Union City Conspiracy, both of which are more substantial offerings and progressively improved games. In Alien Virus we can see the raw beginnings of the developers' skills. The talent and enthusiasm for producing adventure games is there, but it doesn't really come together in this package.

The premise is overly familiar, though not a game killer; it's basically the same story as the original film Alien. Your character, Joshua, is dispatched to a space station to make some deliveries. Your girlfriend is also working on this station. While you're en route, the stations gets infected with a mysterious--you guessed it!--Alien Virus. Okay, so this isn't so very different from the plot of System Shock 2, which is a great game, so I'm not going to blame the story.

Trots högupplösningsgrafik, CD-musik och högar av renderade sekvenser känns det här mer som en övningsuppgift från multimediaskolan än ett kommersiellt spel som man ska punga ut med en femhundring för att få det tveksamma nöjet att belamra CD-spelaren med.
