Kaikki eivät pidä shoot'em upeista, eikä Blastar varmaastikaan tuo lajityypille uusia ystäviä. Joskus räiskintäpelissäkin voitaisiin murtaa toimintapelejä rassaava rakenne, jossa vaiheet tulevat joka pelikerta aina ja iankaikkisesti samassa järjestyksessä. Esimerkiksi rahankeruumissiot jo selvitetyille tasoille tai vapaampi reitinvalinta olisivat taatusti piristäneet tätäkin peliä.

Du point de vue de la réalisation, Blastar ne bénéficie que de peu d'innovations. On a droit aux incontournables scrollings hyper fluides et rapides (Amiga oblige!), des musiques parfaitement reproduites pour peu que vous aimiez la techno et des graphismes "alienesques".
