Ett väldigt intelligent actionspel. Bitmap Brothers är de okrönta kungarna vad gäller shoot em' up. Det är dessutom väldigt roligt att spela tillsammans med en kompis.

Chaos Enginen kaltaisia pelejä varten kotimikrot kehitettiin. Nykyään graafinen toteutus näyttää tuntuvan tärkeämmältä kuin pelattavuus, mutta Bitmap Brothers on onnistunut yhdistämään molemmat uhraamatta tippaa kummastakaan. Tuloksena on yksi pelattavimmista ja nautittavimmista Amiga-peleistä. Jos Chaos Engine olisi maailman viimeinen tietokonepeli, me emme valittaisi.

Es hat sich gelohnt! Der ewig wartende Amiga-Freak darf endlich in Weinkrämpfe verfallen und die Wand hochhoppeln: The Chaos Engine ist das schlichtweg beste Actionspiel, das die Bitmaps je auf die Beine gestellt haben.

Alles in allem haben die Bitmap Brothers mit Chaos Engine ihrer Sammlung an Klassikern wie "Xenon II", "Speedball" oder "Cadaver" ein weiteres Prunkstück hinzugefügt - was anderes hatten wir von den jungs auch gar nicht erwartet!

Overall, The Chaos Engine is a competent, eight-way scrolling blaster with enough in it to keep you coming back for more. The graphics are up to the high standards we've come to expect from Dan Malone, as is the excellent in-game tunes which keep tempo with the pace of the action, slowing down to a more subdued sound when there's little to blast and speeding up to thumping rave beat when the screen is flooded with nasties. If you liked Gauntlet or Alien Breed, then you'll also like this. It's by no means the best that the genre has to offer, but its a frantic blast all the same.

On the whole it is a recommendable game that surpasses many new action games by far. It shows that a good game is no problem without much technical fuss.
