The Amiga graphics are very nice with large, well defined cars whizzing around a solid looking racetrack, while the sound is also good, going from a twangy guitar solo on the intro screen to quite realistic engine roars and tyre squeals in the actual game.

Nevertheless despite the bad sound and jerky graphics the game kept me up all night, something about it makes it very addictive and playable, maybe it is because the game has a hint of Out Run in it because it uses popular road cars instead of the ubiquitous formula 1 cars. Nevertheless that is as far as Crazy Cars get in similarity to Out Run. One other is that there are absolutely no crashes, all that happens is that the car jumps up a foot off the ground like it had a bad case of hiccups and you end up losing half your speed. I also think the game seems quite easy, it gives you a generous time limit. Even though it is far from the Amiga’s best, somehow it will still keep you playing for hours.

The graphics are certainly colourful and well drawn but the scrolling is jerky. The only real difference between the cars in the handling and performance department is the addition of a few extra kph for the better models. Without severe time penalties for crashing or back-ending other vehicles the challenge soon wanes, and it can become very boring. Still it's playable and you could find yourself going for the odd spin in a year's time. A brave attempt to combine two very different game styles which doesn't quite work.

Das Spiel als solches und Ganzes ist als Grafik-Rennabenteuer zu bezeichnen, wobei die Backgrounds (Häuser, Air Bases und andere Staffage) excellent sind. Ebenso verhält es sich bei den teueren Schlitten, die - von hinten gesehen - sehr naturgetreu auf den Screen gebracht wurden (unser Bildschuß wird dies unter Beweis stellen!). Die Straße allerdings hätte ich mir anders vorgestellt. Ein Mittelstreifen wäre eher angebracht gewesen als die häßlichen anthrazitfarbenen „Seitenstreifen“, die quer über den High Way flammen (beunruhigt die Augen!). CRAZY CARS ist ein Spiel, das aus zwei älteren komponiert wurde. Nicht schlecht, aber doch etwas zu einfach. Der geneigte Amiga-Pilot wird nicht lange was davon haben!

Grafiken i Crazy Cars verkade som sagt lovande, men när spelet kom igång så blev det en besvikelse. Det mesta sker ganska ryckigt och grafiken är inte lika snygg som den verkade vara på bild. Ljudet är varken bra eller dåligt, men med tanke på vad för ljud Amigan kan ge ifrån sig så är nån samplad låt och lite samplade motorljud inte särskilt imponerande. Körkänslan i Crazy Cars är inte på topp. Den ganska okänsliga styrningen där man besparas växling och dylikt kombinerat med de långtråkiga banorna och den halvdåliga grafiken gör att man snart tröttnar på att spela Crazy Cars.
