Top Secret

Speedy, excellent animation, graphics, music, documentation all really make up for an excellent game, don't they? You bet!

Datormagazin

Amiga Action
Elvira II is a good, solid adventure/role playing game, which is professionally presented with a true quality feel to it. The colour and detail of the graphics capture the spirit of Elvira's real life on-screen sets with her character also accurately conveyed. Thrumming in the background is the music: subtle melodies that maintain Elvira spirit and mood. To begin with, you wish for a great deal more interaction and involvement but this increases the further you venture into the game. As a worthy sequel, Accolade should be supremely confident of another highly successful Elvira title.

Amiga Format
Elvira II is derivative and sensationalist, therefore it is likely to sell in the thousands. This isn't too big a problem as the game's actually a hell of a lot of fun. Instead of intricate spell casting involving all sorts of mysterious items, Elvira's spells run perfectly well off fire extinguishers and bleach. Her earthy sense of humour runs throughout the game, making it a kind of Bored With the Rings meets acid-house Dungeon Master. You'd better hope and prey that you make it safe back to your own world.

The One
Elvira II is a decent RPG, marred by excessive disk loading and swapping - there are occasions when the loading takes up more time than the action - but with plenty of monsters, good combat and magic systems, and a large landscape to explore, there's plenty to keep you entertained. All you need is patience...

CU Amiga
The graphics are suitably dark and gruesome in parts, with some very detailed screens, but these usually cover up the fact that there's little to do in some sections. For my money, however, I like a bit more excitement and a lot less expense. Elvira might be one of the most desirable women on the planet, but she'll just have to live without me this time.
33
Amiga Power
So, a disappointment then. Should you choose to tackle Elvira you will find your hands full. The mountain to climb is high and the sluggish interlace, lack of any atmosphere, shortage of interesting and varied puzzles or worthwhile substance makes your route to her chamber long and hard.
