Fascination is a very interesting game, if only because it's something that hasn't been done in quite a while. An enjoyable plot, linked with some well thought out and logical puzzles makes for a payable adventure. Ignore the rubbish about the game '16' classification - it's just a gimmick on a game that doesn't really need one. It won't be easy completing it, but give it a go - you'll be hooked.
Now to sum it all up. Fascination is just the latest in a line of quality graphic adventures and is good for what it is. But I'm not really an adventure bunny and it takes a lot to hook me. I found this a bit awkward, slow and frustrating so it wasn't ideal for me. The graphics, though, were suitably realistic, especially the close-ups of the people and the object interaction was also easier than some members of the genre. I'll hedge my best here. If the realist graphic-adventure genre is your thing, this is a worthy purchase. There's worse, but bear in mind also that there are better.
I did kind of enjoy playing it, and the Cruise For A Corpse-style game system is one of the easiest I've ever used. But it's too straightforward and limited in scope.
Fascination is a pretty well-presented product. It's just a little too linear and lacks the touches which would make it feel special. Jet aircraft, pool-side cocktails and disrobed females don't really cut it.
Fascination isn't the best adventure game to make its way across the channel, due to the bizarre and irrational puzzle element. Yet once you've grasped the fussy and sometimes infuriating puzzle aspect you'll probably whiz through the 20 odd screens in no time at all. Unfortunately, the crude graphics and needless porn sequences do little to improve its case.
