Ferrari Formula One

The only similarity Ferrari Formula One has with Pole Position is that it's a car driving game. At heart it's a pure simulation and as a result it probably won't find favour with arcade game players, but simulation fans should lap it up. The game has gone a long way towards recreating the atmosphere of Grand Prix racing and as a result it's undoubtedly the most realistic yet. Ferrari Formula One is a masterpiece of a program which no Amiga owner should be without.

Start at the Ferrari test track at Fiorano by tuning the engine of your car, and testing the aerodynamics in the wind tunnel, before getting behind the steering wheel and racing on 16 of the fastest tracks in the world.

FF1 has more than any other racing game. The only thing that comes close is Revs, and this is a lot more fun and a lot less hassle to play.

It is difficult to think of anything that has actually been omitted from this simulation and that in a curious way could be the game's undoing. Superb though the simulation is (and there is no denying that), anyone without a passionate interest in motor racing might find that they are happier with just an ordinary run of the mill racing game.

Autorennen mit taktischem (Rennstall-)Einschlag. Liebenswerte spielerische Details, aber schlechtes Fahrgefühl.
