Gobliiins

Craziness aside, the amount of thought that has gone into Gobliiins (too many i's!) is very much apparent and very impressive, each situation is a puzzle in its own right - sometimes two or three puzzles. No solutions are immediately obvious, throw in a couple of red herrings and you have a game that will keep you going for ages.

Nicely presented, with cute graphics and some neat touches. Difficult to get into initially, bot solving the problems can be rewarding. No time limit, so plenty of time to ponder on the puzzles. Some annoying delays mar what is clearly a polished program.

Gobliiins isn't the Lemmings beater it promised to be, but it's still a fine game. There's certainly a few brain-straining puzzles to overcome and the cartoon-like puzzles to overcome and deft animation touches make for an entertaining game, but things become daunting after a while as the difficulty level rises and the clues become much more sparse. Definitely worth a look, Gobliiins isn't wildly original, but it is a very humorous romp. And if you like your puzzle-cum-adventure games hard, then they don't come much harder than this.

Another quirky piece of French humour-in-game-form. I don't know what they give their programmers over there, but make mine a double. Individual and loveable, Gobliiins isn't going to win any awards, but there's no reason not to like it. One of the freshest most likeable puzzlers.

Gobliiins beschert uns eine knackige Rätselei, gewürzt mit einer Menge Humor. Auf den ersten Blick beeindruckt die hervorragend gezeichnete VGA-Grafik. Die Animationen der Gestalten und einige Rätsel sind dermaßen witzig, daß man trotz kleiner Unfeinheiten Gobliiins Suchtcharakter zusprechen darf. Jeder Raum steckt voller lustiger Überraschungen - das Paßwortsystem läßt die Motivation noch höher steigen. Die Idee ist zwar nicht die allerneueste, die Soundeffekte auch nicht die Besten, aber dem Spiel- und Lachvergnügen tun sie keinen Abbruch. Für alle Knobelfans mit Sinn für Humor: sollte man haben. Spielerische Unterschiede zwischen den Versionen gibt's nicht.

Gobliiins is a very nice game. Presentation, contents and difficulty make it suitable for children, too. It's lacking a real spark to make it a really timeless classic, though.

Humorn är det inget fel på; Goblinarna visar tydligt vilken idiot de tycker man är när man gör fel, men spelet kan inte bara leva på det. Grafiken fyller sin funktion men ljudet är direkt uselt (bara lite risiga ljudeffekter här och där). Dessutom är spelet i sig tämligen trögt att styra. Svårt att komma in i och lätt att tröttna på när man gjort det, och ändå tycker jag att det är ganska kul.

Und auch die technische Umsetzung ist gelegentlich ein wenig schlampig ausgefallen; was das witzige Intro, Grafik und Animationen an Lob ernten, erhalt der Sound an Kritik: Während der Rettungstournee gibt's keine Hintergrundmusik und nur sehr sparsame Effekte. Auch die Maussteuerung könnte etwas exakter sein, aber mit der optionalen Tastatur wird's noch umständlicher. Letztendlich tut das aber dem Spass an der Freud keinen Abbruch - Gobliiins ist ein sympathisches kleines Game für Neuamigianer, das mit Erfolgserlebnissen nicht knausrig ist.
