MegaTraveller 1: The Zhodani Conspiracy

Back through the mists of time I recall playing the original Traveller and here I am now with the very latest computer version. The game has translated between the formats very well and the atmosphere and attraction of the original still remains (including the big pile of guns). Easier accessability and improved graphics would have helped newcomers to appreciate the system but that aside I have no real complaints. Recommended for veterans of the original game and role-playing junkies in general.

Grafiken i spelet som helhet imponerar inte, men får godkänt. Något ljud finns knappast att tala om. Som gammal Star Wars-freak efterlyser jag lite mera häftiga motorvrål i rymdsekvenserna på riktigt space opera-manér, även om detta inte är vetenskapligt korrekt. Tanken bakom Mega Traveller är god. Programmet är välskrivet och man har många olika möjligheter. Tyvärr är dock genomförandet av idéerna inte så bra. Vad som kunde ha blivit ett suveränt rollspel har blivit en medelmåtta i genren.

Die Commodore-Version des Science-fiction-Rollenspiels "Megatraveller" bekam ein paar neue Soundeffekte und leicht geschönte Grafik – ansonsten hat sich nichts geändert. Mit der Maus kämpft man sich durch unübersichtliche Menüs, mit der Laserpistole durch das katastrophale Kampfsystem. Rollenspiel-Mittelmaß.
