Amiga Action
There are plenty of strategy games milling around at the moment of which a large percentage are pretty dire. So when you do fork out the money you want to make sure you get the right one, and you can't go far wrong with the Perfect General. The game is extremely east to get grips with, and although the manual is very informative you don't need to learn it backwards before you can commence play. The graphics and sound are more than adequate for this type of game and although it comes on two disks it doesn't send you completely round the bend with endless swapping.
Amiga Format
I loved this game. It's incredibly easy to grasp the rules, and hellishly good fun trying to outwit and outdo your opponent. The somewhat pedestrian pace of play is soon forgotten when the shells begin to fly and the chess-like combination of simple rules and deep strategy means tons of lasting appeal. Almost perfect.
Amiga Power
If only this wargame was making more of a step forward rather than a small nudge. Buy and enjoy if want a (fairly) modern warfare, or wait (if you can) for the next model.
Amiga Games
