In a recent interview, Bob Bates said this about the last project he worked on for Infocom: "The third was always meant to be a Robin Hood game, but when the opportunity came up to do a game based on James Cameron's The Abyss, Infocom asked me to do that instead. That's the game I was working on at the time the company shut down."

After having completed Arthur and Sherlock Holmes, Designer Bob Bates worked on a third historical text adventure, based on the story of Robin Hood. However, the project was scrapped when Infocom closed its doors.

Sherlock featured sound for certain systems (like Amiga). Do you want your version to have sound? You can get the missing sound files and a utility to upgrade your .DAT file. It is available via anonymous ftp from ftp.gmd.de at if-archive/infocom/missing-files, and the file is called SHSOUND.ZIP.
