DescriptionBiophilia is a companion app to the Björk album of the same title. Each song on the album, save for "Cosmogony", is represented by a sub-app that takes the form of a mini-game or interactive art piece. The accompanying song plays while the sub-app is in use. The mini-games featured in the app are as follows:
Crystalline: The player must tilt the device to move a crystal through an underground maze while collecting other crystals from the caverns' walls. Collecting crystals opens up new pathways in which different parts of the song will play.
Dark Matter: A musical scale is displayed as a series of colored orbs. Part of the song plays, and then stops. In order to continue to the next portion of the song, the player must hit the correct notes to play the portion of the song they just heard.
Virus: A number of cells are displayed on the screen. Viruses will come in from all sides to attack the mother cell, and the player must drag them away with their finger in order to protect the cell. However, the only way to hear the full song is to allow the cell to be destroyed by the viruses.
Mutual Core: Revolving layers of a sphere spin to conceal a core. The player can spin these layers away in an attempt to touch the core at the center. Once the core has been touched, gameplay switches to a pair of hemispheres that need to be united. However, resistance between the two makes this difficult, much in the same way that magnets of the same polarity will repel one another. A slider can be used to adjust the strength of the resisting force.
