DescriptionLonely One: Hole-in-one is a miniature golf game with a man who plays alone, while gnomes keep track of his progress. The game consists of more than 200 fields that can be played in succession or in a stage mode with ten arenas and 100 stages. In the main game mode every game session starts at the first hole and the man needs to complete as many as possible with three lives. A life is lost every time a hole is missed. When all lives are gone the entire game needs to be started over.
A single hole generally takes up a single screen and it is shown from a side view. By tapping and dragging, the direction and the force of the shot can be defined with a single movement, shown through a white trajectory. Scoring does not require hitting the hole right away, the ball can still reach the hole by rolling down a slope for instance. Levels often have a complex structure with multiple levels to take into account. Some levels have wind that can blow in two directions with three types of strength, influencing the shot. Shaking the device or dragging a shot to the side or the bottom of the screen cancels it.
With each goal and each completed session coins can be earned. They are used to unlock additional playable characters, with 63 in total. Some cannot be bought with coins and need to be earned during gameplay in some way. Optionally characters can be bought directly as an in-app purchase with real money and a small selection of the characters is only available that way. They do not have different characteristics, it is only an aesthetic change. It is possible to watch advertisements to earn additional coins, but otherwise no in-game advertisements are shown. Regularly gifts are provided with extra coins.
