Arcade America

All in all, this is a good program, taking in mind these few reservations. When you play it, make sure you sit through the bluesy electric violin solo that plays through the end credits. It's the greatest I've heard since Jean-Luc Ponty on Elton John's Honky Chateau!

Side-scrolling arcade games are very popular, although those of us who use computers don't usually see these type of games, since they're mainly used on video-game systems. 7th Level has made a side-scrolling game for the Mac, which is called Arcade America. It's got some of the best graphics, and funniest characters and sounds ever (as far as I can see) put into a game like this. Most kids, as well as some older players will find Arcade America to be a fun, enjoyable game.

Arcade America ist in puncto Grafik und Sound ein wahres Feuerwerk - das steht außer Frage! Nur das Gameplay läßt ein wenig zu wünschen übrig. Die Levels werden zwar stetig komplexer und dadurch auch schwieriger, für fortgeschrittene Spieler stellen sie jedoch keine echte Herausforderung dar. Einsteigern und allen, die opulente Grafik schätzen, kann man Arcade America aber bedingungslos ans Herz legen.

Für Kids und Einsteiger ein gelungenes Programm. Der abgebrühte Intensivspieler investiert seinen Hunderter lieber anderwertig: Im Jump-and-Run-Genre regiert "Earhworm Jim" dank Komplexität und Abwechslung.

Arcade America er mere et uforløst og ujævnt spil end et børnespil. Og vigtigst af alt: Platformene i Arcade America kan ikke rigtig hamle op med konkurrenternes platforme, selv om præsentationen er i top.
