I just can't see why. I like this game alot, and see no bigger flaw in it. Help me out a bit.

Everyone's tastes are different, right? You could take a look at the reviews to see why other people didn't like it.

It capitalizes on none of the strengths of the popular franchise, is frustrating and repetitive. Virtually all the other TMNT games were of a different genre and style and it was no accident!

And yet I think that diverging from the traditional way of making TMNT games is something that wouldn't be completely bad, if done well. I mean, I like the overall design of this game, I really enjoy the change of perspectives. The problem is that you spend too much time on the side scrolling sequences, and those play really bad. There's also the fact that the game is repetitive, yes. So, I guess the idea was good, the problem was the implementation.

Here's a winner for you: a "the Lost Vikings" clone with four turtles instead. (Or as "Gobliiins" instead if you prefer.)

I agree, I remember playing this game when it first came out and I was the biggest TMNT freak out there at the time, I even had the article from the Weekly World News that boasted about "The real Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle that existed in the New York City sewers" and to me this once a huge, huge disappointment. It was to a point where I was disillusioned with the franchise and actually this is the first game I remember playing that I was very upset over. Thankfully TMNT II: The Arcade Game revived my interest.

No, it's not :) It just makes me feel I'm back in highschool, we are all silly kids, and you are a patient teacher who is strict only with particularly naughty boys :)

I can imagine the scene:

DJP Mom: Now boys, how much is 2+2?.. Does anyone know? Yes, Sciere?
Sciere: Four.
DJP Mom: That's correct, Sciere, thank you! You are always so quick to give the correct answer!
FrakesJoe (mumbling): Asshole.
DJP Mom (frowning): Please do not use such language in my class, FrakesJoe!
FrakesJoe (mumbling): Yeah, whatever... (almost inaudible): assholes.
DJP Mom (raising her voice): I heard that, FrakesJoe! Please leave the class immediately!
(noise is heard)
DJP Mom: Oleg and Zovni, stop that immediately!
Oleg (red face, shouting): He started first! He started first!
Zovni (maliciously): Who is shouting now? I'm not shouting, am I?
DJP Mom: Stop that NOW! Drunken Irishman, leave St. Martyne alone! How many times did I tell you not to provoke people?! Such a bright student, and such terrible behavior! Indra, put away that terrible Japanese porn magazine! Put that away, I said! (desperately): I need a vacation.

Holy crap Jazz, I cracked up laughing at the classroom bit, that was brilliant. Shame I can't be there, I'd be the brain dead one in back going "BOOBIES", lol.

Hahaha! Worst of all is that her nickname and field of contributing don't seem to contradict much to this theory. ;-)

Now that's a vivid scene. DJP Mom indeed pretty much has that kind of authority on the site, especially when she turns her tone of voice to make a user think he has done something naughty and should be ashamed of himself =)

There are days when teaching is a lot like that, but in the end it's the still the greatest job in the world to me.

Children en masse are scary, scary, scary, but if you show your fear they go for the throat!

Ain't that the truth, my buddy is a bus driver I'm not sure how he hasn't strapped any to the roof or the radiator yet. One or two kids I can handle, but once you start getting past three to me it's like a zombie invasion to me, I just can't stand it.

[Q --start Sciere wrote--]Definitely, but I'll be quiet about it until the actual release =) [/Q --end Sciere wrote--] RPS sort of first-looked it already, and it sounds pretty unreviewable. Or at the very least quite a challenge for reviewers.

In any case, it sounds (and looks) all kinds of interesting, that's for sure.

The problem is you can't write about it without spoiling it entirely. it's something you need to experience without knowing what it is about exactly. I was very glad I had forgotten almost all that I knew, because then the first two hours of the game made for some of the most mesmerizing game time in my life. It is so different compared to what you would generally expect of a "game" (whatever that means).

Also, it's terribly depressing. There is horror, but exactly the opposite of what you expect. It leaves you sad, bruised and battered, and you feel sorry for anyone who wants to grow up and make something of his life based on a possibly naive desire. Also prepare for some uncomfortable scenes, but again, as the opposite of excess.

Someone needs to throw buckets of money at them so they can keep making these types of projects.

I have no intentions of writing a review. I don't even know what it is I like about the game. Well... I suppose I find the gameplay to be intriguing. And I love the Turtles... Bah.

But yeah, everyone do have different tastes... which is something I've been going on about alot just about everywhere.

Oh well. Thanks for the replies, guys.
