On the whole, Army of Two does a great job of making a Co-op game that is fun, challenging, and introduces some fresh ideas. I hope some day we'll be seeing more titles like this, perhaps even an Army of Four?

Closing out… Army of Two quite frankly is a superb game and one I have had masses of fun with. I have still to finish the game, but then that would be my fault as I have constantly replayed certain levels (and I mean, replayed a LOT) rather than just going from A to B to C so to speak. The cooperative system that EA have put in place works, and looks superb in action. Add to that, the fact that the enemy AI is intelligent and is not just going to roll over and die, and the fact that you can spend just as much time modifying weapons as you can do playing the game, the package as a whole is a very slick piece of work. I found very little fault with Army of Two and as already mentioned, in the main these problems as I see it, lie with the versus multiplayer setup and not with the game itself. I had waited a long time to play this game, chomped at the bit to get my hands on it, and have loved every minute spent on it since. Highly recommended!

All in all, Army of Two arrives as a fine opening act of EA's fresh new IP, and it is sure to be the first of many bullet-riddled action adventures for the hulking and paranoid Rios and the wise-cracking and cash-driven Salem.

Army of Two on Electronic Artsia omimmillaan.

f you’re looking for a new co-op shooter for you and a friend to blast through again and again and high five each other every time you get a sweet kill then the $60.00 is definitely worth the tag price of Army of Two. Army of Two does everything right in the multiplayer aspect of the game, but somehow lacks in single player play. Army of Two should be advertised with the warning “Requires 2 or more friends” on the back of the game box. Even if you’re friends aren’t around single player is still worth a try. Just be sure to put the whole war in Iraq and military patriotism behind you for this game, because it does base itself on a touchy subject.

With a style that is one part Gears and one part Rainbow, Army of Two is without a doubt one of the coolest titles I’ve played in some time. This is definitely a new take on the third person co-op genre and I think that EA did very well on it. Despite the glitches and the online issues, Army of Two is a pretty solid title. I highly recommend Army of Two to anyone looking for a new challenge or something to play with your buddies. I highly advice picking up Army of Two whenever you can.

When Army of Two came out it got enough buzz from the gaming community and there is a good reason for that. The game is well done and to the date I think it is better than some of these other so-called next gen games. Single player gameplay might not be the best but co-op is a blast. Army of Two is a damn good game and a must own with its bargain price.

Army of Two is a unique shooter that will literally get the blood flowing. The two-man control and tactics are really fun. This game probably marks the birth of a franchise assuming that the distinct gameplay doesn't get tiresome. The slick presentation and intensely fun co-op play has made a believer out of me even though gameplay can feel sloppy at times. If you love shooters and are looking to play an interesting campaign mode with a friend, then Army of Two is a must-buy.

Xbox 360Gaming Age
While Army of Two doesn't do anything totally revolutionary, it does deliver something that is seriously lacking at this time, which is a great game that two people can get totally engrossed in without having to join up with a large team. I don't know how many times I've been asked where are all the two player co-op games? Well now here's an answer... Army of Two. If you are looking for this title to enjoy alone, let's just say it may not be for you.

Despite some minor issues in certain categories, there’s a decent story that helps push Army of Two’s extremely solid co-op features to be an entertaining experience; whether you have a wannabe mercenary friend to tag along or not.

But even with its AI and command shortcomings and its a-few-chapters-short story, Army of Two is a strong co-op game that delivers a compelling experience at a time of year when gamers are clamoring for something new. The newness doesn't come in the gameplay itself, which combines the mechanics of several games, but in the execution of it all as a single, cohesive package. If you've got a few friends who can play their shooters with a touch of strategy, Army of Two is the first shooter you won't want to miss in 2008.

Put simply, Army of Two is a great game to play with a friend whether that friend is local for split-screen or on Xbox Live for remote play. The cooperative elements are passable in single player but really shine when executed with a friend. The multiplayer is fairly basic, but the cooperative nature makes for a more complete experience. Couple all of this with the very human experience I got to enjoy with my wife and father-in-law and I’m hard pressed not to recommend this title.

Army of Two is definitely a good game, it needs an option to choose which kind of split-screen to employ and could have done with being a bit longer with a few more special unlocks to add replay value. I guess the developers are hoping that the players will keep on plugging away at the multiplayer which is certainly fun and fairly unique in terms of allowing enemy AI to mix things up with the regular objectives.

If you're playing alone, or looking for a competitive online rampage, Army of Two teeters between middling fun and frustration, but if you take the time to give the meaty co-op component its due you'll find yourself sucked in by one of the few gun-obsessed romps worth playing through again and again.

Unlike the ham-handed BlackSite: Area 51 or the meandering Frontlines: Fuel of War. Army of Two is a thoughtful shooter — one that successful integrates narrative into gameplay and blends strategy into third-person shooting.

Xbox 360Play Magazine
To be sure, Army of Two has its dumb, awkward, and just plain odd moments. When it becomes necessary for an A.I.-controlled teammate to yank your injured soldier to safety in order to heal him, it’s a coin flip as to whether he’ll do just that or drag you (in fine, meandering fashion) into a hail of bullets. And you’ll probably be able to do without enemies who need to be dispatched with shots to their backs. It seems almost patently ridiculous that anyone, man or superman, could survive a merciless hail of gunfire to the head—even if it strikes an enemy’s well-armored front. Rapper Rob Bass was indeed correct when he suggested it takes two to make a thing go right. In fact, it takes two to make them out of sight. Almost.

Xbox 360Worth Playing
Although it is a bit difficult to enjoy the superficial story line in Army of Two, the game offers a merging of some of the most popular FPS features. If you prefer a solo run-and-gun experience, then this title definitely isn't for you. Army of Two requires cooperative gameplay even when using an AI teammate. The game sports an excellent weapons upgrade system, with an extensive number of weapons available for purchase and modification. The campaign is engaging and fun, especially when you play with a friend. Combined with an Xbox Live experience that offers some great replay value, all of these features make Army of Two a pretty good entertainment investment for mature players.

Xbox 360Game Over Online
There’s no denying that Army of Two is a game concept whose day has arrived, and it’s a shame that it didn’t quite hit the mark. The campaign mode is great if you have a real person to play with, even if it is a little short. On the other hand, playing with the AI stand-in can be very frustrating. Most of the time it behaves well enough to get you through, but it’s more like babysitting than compelling team play, and it isn’t really up to the challenges that make the game really shine. That versus mode isn’t more robust is also too bad, and the difficulty of getting into a multiplayer game is even worse. Still there is definitely something worth noting here. Defining agro in a shooter in this way is really unique, forcing you to work closely with your partner every step of the way, and is worth checking out if you have buddies who are also into it.

In spite of lacking content and teamwork flaws, Army of Two is an effective, worthwhile action game that takes co-op gaming to new heights. Even if you're on your own, however, you'll find a lot to like here. The gameplay is engaging and, in some aspects, original; the presentation is very good; and the action never lets up, even going as far as throwing in unnatural elements your way when you least expect it. Bottom line, it takes Two to make a thing go right.

Army of Two is highly unoriginal, sometimes corny, sometimes dramatic and cool, and sometimes painfully… well… American. But if there’s a better game around for teaming up with a mate for an evening and having a blast then I haven’t seen it.

Like an overblown Hollywood action flick, Army of Two is an explosive good time that has its weaknesses here and there but it won’t stop you from enjoying the bullet-fueled action. The single-player experience isn’t bad at all but this is a game best played with others to get the most out of this fun shooter.

If you are looking for a cooperative first/third person shooter and you fully intend only to use multiplayer, then Army of Two isn't a bad buy at all. But if you are after the single player title, then I'm afraid you are going to be disappointed, the ideas within the game however are very well thought of, and certainly should be applauded. However, you should take the title to be literal and in order to get the best out of the game, Army of Two should be a great cooperative experience.

Army of Two isn't a flawless game by any means, but it's a great start for a new IP and I hope with some further tweaking, the developers can make a decent franchise out of it. I recommend this game to fans of shooters, as it has enough charm to make it stand out from the madding crowd. It's predominately very fun to play and once you "get" the commands and Aggro system down, you'll generally have a lot of fun, with the cliche story, the characters and the gameplay.

Xbox 360Thunderbolt Games
Army Of Two adds a lot to the coop shooter genre, and I hope future games take note of some of the additions made, especially something like the aggro meter. The game is cheesy, overdramatic, and has a lot of pointless explosions. Is that necessarily a bad thing? Again, anyone who wants something more shouldn't bother getting this game, but those who enjoy taking out helicopters with a single sniper, causing it to explode will certainly have a blast with this title.

Xbox 360Armchair Empire, The
Army of Two’s solo mission doesn’t match the firepower of its two-person co-op play, either in the offline game or online. But it does have plenty enough gun-filled action to satiate any violence-fans fill, and if the online gameplay is functionally free of lag or connectivity issues, Army of Two is one of the better recently released titles in regards to Xbox Live gaming.

Xbox 360Gamer 2.0
Army of Two didn’t exactly deliver as a cooperative experience much better than Gears of War, but it made up for that by being a solid shooter in its own right. While the campaign is a short 7-8 hours, you’ll want to go back and play again on a harder difficulty or solely to earn money and buy that M14 minigun. The multiplayer is flawed, and a couple gameplay mechanics could use some work, but in the end Army of Two is an immersive, enticing shooter whose sequel we look forward to.

As a single player experience, Army of Two is a fine game -– one that manages to provide a fun, engaging time despite its length, AI issues and elements that don't seem fully implemented. However, it's really co-op play and multiplayer where the game stands out, and these two modes will most likely keep you playing for a long time. Considering that the game has been designed with this style of play in mind, it works very well, and players that want to take on the life of mercenaries will most likely enjoy its story and multiplayer battles.

great single player and co-op experience, made a lot better with a buddy but not spoiled by a fairly smart A.I chum either. The game isn’t overly long but you’ll certainly want to playthrough it again even if it’s just for the achievements. Online the game is spoiled by a lack of access to all available players and some poor matchmaking and lag. A game to be enjoyed rather than played strictly for points and certainly worth a punt.

Xbox 360Game Freaks 365
Army of Two is a good game. It is fun to play with a friend, particularly if the pair playing the game can cooperate very well for six missions of slightly to very-repetitive, objective-competing, terrorist-killing, third-person action. However, it is not quite the great one that I think the world expected. It has a few flaws that can severely hinder the experience for a lot of gamers. It is no surprise to me that there are mixed reviews and so many differing opinions on many different aspects of the game. It all depends on how the game is played, and how much patience can be had getting shot by enemies who had might as well be somewhere in the Andromeda galaxy.

The game, like most closeted friends you know, is often confused. Sometimes frightfully serious, othertimes absurdly ludicrous, it suffers from mood-swings and a general lack of coherent personality. But it’s also a two-man good time, and would have felt right at home in the GR compound if we were still sporting a loveseat instead of beanbags in front of our TV.

Army of Two bietet ein hervorragend inszeniertes, kooperatives Spielerlebnis, mit teils atemberaubenden Zwischensequenzen, bleibt jedoch in Sachen Glaubwürdigkeit der Charaktere, Hintergrundgeschichte, künstlicher Intelligenz der Gegner, Stabilität im Mehrspieler Modus sowie grafischer Qualität und Innovationsfreude hinter den Erwartungen zurück.

Army of Two looks and plays much like an action-packed interactive buddy movie. Salem and Rios aren't anything special individually, but thanks to some very interesting cooperative game design choices, the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. If you're looking for a profound single-player experience, you'll be annoyed by the issues with the artificial intelligence, but if you plan to play with a friend, this game is well worth checking out.

Ultimately, Army of Two implements enough innovative co-op gameplay to help mask its other deficiencies. If you’re the person that loves to play with a friend then pick it up. But if your quench is satisfied by online friends on Call of Duty 4, then I suggest not giving up your ass groove on the couch.

I was expecting a bit more too Jung. There was potential here for some solid team based puzzles, but they weren’t there. The story and minimal character development also doesn’t justify the killing spree you embark on, but there is some fun to be had here. 7/10 from me.

Xbox 360TTGamer
Co-op action gameplay definitely has it strong points, and Army of Two captures many of these successfully. However, this isn't really a game I'd expect to see dominating the online scene come a few months time as the repetition and general all round linear feel just doesn't allow the gameplay to stay fresh for very long. The single player experience is definitely secondary to the online modes so don't expect the offline gameplay to come to the rescue here either. It's not all disappointment though. Army of Two definitely has its moments of intense action and satisfying teamwork, particularly online, and there are plenty of "whoa cool" moments to be had, but I'd be tempted to make this a game you occasionally rent over a straight out purchase myself.

People who look into Army of Two really need to make sure that they plan to play it with some mates. As a game by itself it kind of feels empty and soulless. Get a mate to join with you and that is forgotten as the fun level rises considerably. It’s not a bad game in single player, but you feel as if it really was meant for humans and not COMs to play with you. It’s a shame the game isn’t longer because the levels really do start to get better as you progress. Like I mentioned before there’s no doubt that EA will get a sequel on the way which will make all those things wrong hopefully corrected right. They’ve got a good idea for a franchise here and should just keep at it and improve on what they have started. For us players we can enjoy a fun game to play with mates, OoAHH!

No question, this is a good looking game and that definitely helps. The character models, crisp background and destructible environments work very well with the theme of this game. Ultimately this is a shooter that’s a notch above average but misses the mark on making it the game it should be.

"Army Of Two" is a fun game for a while but once you have completed the single player campaign (which takes around 8-10 hours) there is a limit to what you can do. The multiplayer felt rushed and never lived up to the expectations. The story is good for one play through and so are the levels. I would download the demo before deciding if you want to buy this game, some will love it while other won't. The new DLC is a fantastic addition and a great bonus when it is free, and will prolong the game-play for a couple of hours.

Ultimately, what you need to take away from this is that Army of Two is a co-op focused game, much more so than even Gears of War. If you pick this up, you absolutely need to be playing with a friend. The fine-tuned excellence of Army of Two's co-op gunplay will easily sustain you through one run through this gutsy, broadly enjoyable game. But the desire to revisit it is weak, and for a game that's designed with social online play in mind, that's a big problem. Any level of the current co-op king, Halo 3, has more spectacle and incident packed into it than the entirety of Army of Two; more that you'll want to relive in company over and over again. Bearing the strong Vs. mode in mind, it would be wrong not to warmly recommend this as a smart twist on a stupid shooter, but perhaps it should have taken itself a little more seriously after all.

As aforementioned, Army of Two does have its issues. It's got a flawed partner intelligence system, some horrid hovercraft piloting sequences, and not to mention the game is region-locked for online play. But if you glance past these disturbances, you'll find a fun, brash somewhat-politically-driven shooter than plays a lot like Gears of War, but is only less memorable in every possible category. Army of Two is not terrible by today's standards, it's actually fun at times, but it all feels a bit ‘try hard', forced and is over way too quickly for a full priced game.

Overall, after high hopes, Army of Two falls well short of my expectations. The more I played the game, the more I found myself getting bored of it. It has a lot of great elements to it, such as the entire concept of co-operative gameplay, but it's sorely lacking in execution and variation. Worst of all, a solid online component could've saved the game, but that falls short too, as Army of Two's online is as barren as the rest of the game. It's visually nice, and runs very well, but interaction with the environment is non-existent, and special effects are a joke. While Army of Two isn't a bad game, it's definitely not worth your $60 and tax, so I suggest renting first.

Overall this game needs a lot of refinement. It is a fun experience, but really only with a friend since the friendly AI is not quite up to snuff. A few things need tweaking, mostly the funky camera which just zooms in way to close with no option to move it around. If you are looking for a fun game to pick up and play with your buddy, make sure he is a patient one and an experienced gamer.

The good news is that while Army of Two doesn't quite live up to expectations, it's a solid first chapter in what's supposed to become a new franchise for EA (which was one of the main reasons the company was willing to give this one the extra time). With that in mind, it's a great introduction to the characters and the core idea of playing co-op -- and, hopefully, a solid foundation for EA to build upon down the road. Here's just hoping Army of Two, er...2, will deliver on more of the game's original vision.

Other than the controls of the weapons and poor aiming model, the great graphics and fantastic voice over work help make Army of Two a solid if unspectacular outing.

I was felt let down by the experience Baj, the game was presented at E3 last year as a dynamic shooter where teamwork was essential to achieve victory. But it’s just turned out to be an average duck and cover shooter, with some good cooperative ideas. 6.5/10 from me.

Army of Two is a better than average shooter that roughly treads on a political landmine when it should have stormed some future battlefield. It features cool co-op mechanics and is fun to play online, with or against friends. But even its title mocks the Army, literally one-upping its slogan while glamorizing a sector that, if anything, deserves scrutiny--not macho fantasy. If you're the type of person who would rather shoot first and ask questions never, by all means, pick up Army of Two. But if you like to think--and the fact that you're reading this review suggests that you do--be warned: Army of Two is less than the sum of its parts.

It can be fun with two players, but it's a real stretch. With Aggro, there is a sentiment to try it at least once, but we can't recommend more than that.

t's hard to be down on a game that tries to do something commendable, but Army of Two suffers from too many problems to be the game we wanted it to be. It just about scrapes through, enough anyway to warrant some decent sales and hopefully a sequel. Hopefully next time Rios and Salem will be a little less wise-cracking, take things a little more seriously and come complete with levels and gameplay scenarios that match the clever aggro system. While the gun-play certainly grows on you as you progress, some hefty tweaks there wouldn't be amiss either. As a trial for a new gameplay concept Army of Two does its job, but as a great game it falls someway short.

I really wanted to love this game, too. I've been following it since its announcement, anticipating some sweet co-op action, and the game kept me minorly entertained for a meager five hours before being returned to my shelf where it's sat, untouched, since. Even its blinged-out weapon unlocks and explodey, shooty goodness couldn't draw me back in. One thing this game has taught me, though, is that I'm not the type of person EA wants to sell this game to...and that I never want to meet that type of person, because I'm afraid I might shove needle sharp pencils into my ears until the hurty talkies go away.
