9 Punkte.

Compared to other fighting games, even ones by SNK, Art of Fighting 3 is weak, but if you are planning on buying one Art of Fighting game ... well, I would still opt for Samurai Shodown II.
Art of Fighting 3 does take some chances, but still doesn't deviate too far from the tried-and-tested gameplay the series has featured in past releases. The visuals are impressive and everything is smoother and more responsive than ever, but it's probably not as big a step up as some might expect given the fact that it's the third and final release in the series. While still certainly not up to the standard of King of Fighters '98 or Garou: Mark of the Wolves, Art of Fighting 3 still represents the pinnacle of a series that really took SNK into the same playing field as Capcom — something the developer constantly strived for.

This game is five years past it's prime. It's a choppy 2-D fighter. The special moves and combos are easy to pull off, but they're not implemented well. For example, every character has a monstrously damaging move called Ultra-Cool Attack that can be used when your health is down to a fourth. This move can do almost 50 percent damage. It doesn't seem fair if i'm winning and someone pulls off one move, which cannot be blocked by the way, that kills me. Some characters have easier joystick motions, for Ultras than others. leading to uneven gameplay. AoF3 is just not a well-balanced game; there are plenty of better fighters in existence.
