the c64 version was originally to be published by Atari themselves, however after Atari was sould to jack tramiel, US gold published the port, which was completed. a port to the bbc micro was planned but was canceled for similar reasons. there was also an Atari 7800 version planned but that was false advertising, though that system did receive a spin-off called "bently bear's cristal quest". In a rather strange marketing move, US Gold made the Spectrum version 'Limited Edition', not pressing any more copies after the initial run. Stranger still, they later reissued the game on budget, and on a magazine cover-tape later still. The conversion was some time after the other formats, and not perceived as being of a high quality, so perhaps they wanted to limit the damage to their reputation. Add
