What then is my conclusion? This game has excellent aesthetics for its time, and it has a gameplay that is entertaining in short bursts periodically. My recommendation is this: if you can find this game cheap, buy it. But I'd hesitate to recommend paying more than about $3 for it, both because it's very common and because you won't get your money's worth out of it at much more than that.

While the chicken looks a bit sickly, the graphics are otherwise crisp and clear, and the constant din of engines and horns sounds realistic. Though lacking a variety of obstacles, Freeway is enjoyable, especially in two-player mode, yet it is not as versatile as Frogger since the chicken cannot move horizontally or jump.

The graphics look terrific and the vehicles are varied, colorful, and detailed. Unlike Frogger, you can only move your chicken up and down. This is quite a bit of fun with two players playing at once.
