Une cartouche très séduisante - sans aucun doute longue à maîtriser - mais qui rapproche tout à fait des jeux complexes d'aventures. Peut-être l'amorce d'une évolution des jeux vidéo ?

Insomma, stiamo parlando di un gioco che, con anni e anni di anticipo rispetto al fenomeno delle avventure grafiche, presenta alcuni dei caratteri tipici di un’AG (raccolta e interazione tra oggetti e ambiente, dialoghi spartani ed esplorazione); e il tutto vede come protagonista nientepopodimenoche il nostro Indiana Jones. Tenete bene a mente, dunque, quale sia stata la prima comparsa del famoso archeologo nel mondo videoludico e, in particolare, non dimenticate che prima della LucasArts, qualcun’altro ha dato vita a quella che possiamo ritenere a tutti gli effetti la prima avventura grafica (ante litteram) dedicata a Indy!
Though this game usually ranks down there with E.T. and Pac-Man, I give it at least a quasi-good score in honor of the years I spent wandering through a surreal universe of nonsense, and because (thanks to Steph) I've won it a good many times. Frustrating, irrelevant, yet loads of fun for the mesa-hopping, skydiving set.
Even though it lacks the replay value that contributes to the greatness of most Atari 2600 games, Raiders of the Lost Ark is a decent game worth playing through on an occasional basis. It is a reasonably common game as well, so it should be fairly easy to find and inexpensive to procure. If you are a fan of adventure games, there is no logical reason why you should pass this one up.
Raiders of the Lost Ark works as a movie adaptation that stresses thinking over mindless button tapping. If you can look past the less-than-stellar graphics and sound, you'll find a surprisingly complex game that will definitely give your problem-solving skills a workout.
Die Anleitung ist zwar umfangreich, aber knapp mit weiterführenden Hinweisen bestückt, so daß man weitgehend auf sich allein gestellt ist. Phasenweise weiß man gar nicht, was man eigentlich tun soll. Das wird von etlichen Videospielern sicher als Nachteil empfunden; andere wiederum werden sich begeistert auf diesen neuen Spieltyp stürzen, der sie vielleicht tage- oder wochenlang beschäftigt, bis des Rätsels Lösung gefunden wird.
The Atari 2600 has, essentially, three categories of games: 1) the great ones; 2) the bad ones; and 3) the technically superior (but not necessarily great or bad) ones. While many will argue that ROTLA is a "1", by my standards I call this one a "3". In this reviewer's opinion, Warshaw’s masterpiece is Yar’s Revenge. THIS game is a frustrating adventure where you have to perform actions in a particular sequence. Certain mistakes will cost you a life, and some of these mistakes feel cheap when they happen to you. It is, however, an amazing game when you realize the entire adventure takes place in just 8K of ROM. Again, Warshaw displays his talents by creating an entire world with very little elbow room of his own. Like Yar’s Revenge, the graphics, sound, and effects are top-notch… at the very top of his class, in fact. But unlike Yar’s Revenge, this game feels very out of control.
In comparison to Activision's first attempt at a role-playing game, Pitfall, Raiders barely qualifies as a must-have for your VCS library. One wonders why Atari couldn't at least come close to doing Raiders the justice it deserves. One thing is true — a good movie does not always a good video game make.
Atari's Raiders of the Lost Ark is best experienced as a movie. Whereas they made a valiant attempt at replicating the action and mystery of the film, the game isn't nearly as captivating.
While graphically challenged and often frustrating, patient gamers will appreciate the intricate complexity of Raiders. There is a true sense of accomplishment when you finally uncover the Ark. Yes, it's possible to love this game, but you really need to try!
Raiders of the Lost Ark simply isn't that fun. It has the same sort of maze-game adventure style that older titles like Adventure and Haunted House had, but without the sense of randomness those games provided, you have a linear quest littered with out-of-the-way death traps and other things that artificially raise the difficulty. Finding items and figuring out how (and where) to use them is a fun challenge. When the only thing that changes from game to game is which mesa holds the Ark, that fun quickly dissipates. And when things conclude with a tricky "succeed or die" arcade-like challenge and a room where thieves can instantly steal your dreams of victory, that's just a cheap conclusion to a blah game with virtually no replay value.
