The Video Game Critic
On the downside, River Raid II is not nearly as pretty as the original, with dull colors and indistinct objects. Ships are gray blobs, and the game generally lacks that arcade "polish" Activision is known for. Even so, River Raid II offers an intense challenge that will reward the patient player.

This game is slightly more complex than other vertical shooters available making this one more of a simulation. But if you can look past that than you should have no trouble enjoying River Raid II. I'm sure that fans of the original would be glad to play this sequel.
