Like many early Activision games, you could earn a patch for high scores in Robot Tank. All you needed to do was send in a picture of the screen to Activision to earn one of the following patches: destroy 4 squadrons for the "Medal of Merit" patch, destroy 5 squadrons for the "Cross of Excellence" patch, or destroy 6 or more squadrons for the "Star of Honor" patch.

Robot Tank is one of a handful of Atari 2600 games that are incompatible with the Atari 7800.
