The music (guaranteed to drive you crazy within about a minute), sounds and incredible graphics of this program make it entirely addictive.
The game uses multi-colour high-res graphics, and it is unlikely that you will find such quality in any other game out at present.
Home Computing Weekly (Apr 26, 1983)
The action is smooth, with unbelievable background music, and the game uses 28 colours on screen at once. Reaching level ten is a real achievement. Altogether an excellent game.
Everything is good about Save New York, but something's missing. Maybe it's that there is only one unchanging screen. Maybe it's that we've all seen so many "shoot-the-aliens" games that yet another fails to excite us. Maybe it's that there are no Sabrett hot dog vendors next to the skyscrapers. I don't know, it's just that something is missing. Save New York won't make any headlines; it's nothing new. But it's still good for a few hours of solid entertainment.
Computer Gamer (Nov, 1986)
The graphics are very good and the instructions are verbose, informative, and useful. The gameplay is likewise up to scratch. If you like 'Frogger' games then here's one with a difference that won't set you back a bundle.
