Seven Cities of Gold was named #61 overall among the “150 Best Games of All Time” by Computer Gaming World Magazine (15th Anniversary Issue--November 1996).

Includes a "world generator" if you find the Americas to be too "boring". The world is generated with the proper algorithms, including mountains, hills, rivers and such, with different levels of civilizations from simple villages to a "heart" of civilization like the Incans and Mayans.
This was the first game to be classifed as "edu-tainment" by EA founder Trip Hawkins.
Accoding to designer Dan Bunten, the only "full" version of the game was made for the Atari. All other ports, including the better selling Commodore version, had to compromise some of the orginal game aspects to make the port.
