Description

Escape from the Planet of the Robot Monsters has the player sent on a rescue mission to Planet X. This planet has been taken over by robots and it's up to the player to find and evacuate the remaining humans.

It's a shooter similar to Gauntlet, only with an isometric viewpoint. The protagonist runs around the levels shooting robots, rescuing humans and picking up items.

Trivia

Accidental covermount release

One UK ST magazine offered a playable demo of this on a coverdisk. Or, at least, that's how it seemed, until tens of thousands of readers loaded it up and found themselves presented with the full game, then retailing at £25!

Version differences

In the Amiga and Atari version (probably in the other computer conversions too) the gore animations from the arcade version when dying in the spike machine trap were removed.
