The only criticism I can make is that there aren't any points to be won. You either succeed or fail in your mission to destroy Ming. That aside, it is a superb game.

Although the game is nicely presented, there isn't much variety or depth. What's there is good, but would benefit from having a touch more substance.

Graphically it's well up to Infogrames' standard, looking a little similar in style to Hostages (especially in the way screens are overlayed rather than just replaced). Operation Neptune is very classy and playable and the three difficulty levels make sure that interest wont wane for some time.

Computer and Video Games (CVG)
The blurb says the game contains 'unbelievably realistic subaquatic combat', but quite frankly, this is about as believable as an episode of Neighbours! Whilst only average in the audio-visual stakes, this is a really dull game, and even for a fiver it isn't a great purchase.

Epilogue: Operation Neptune is a tough but fairly longwinded arcade puzzle game, with pretty graphics and better than average Jean Michel Jarre-sounding tune. Really only for puzzle game fans.
