An excellent conversion! The graphics are smooth and flicker free, and the playability hard but more of a challenge for that. A very solid and playable game, with all the flavour of the original coin-op surviving intact.
Power Play (Jul, 1990)
Der Tiefgang-Faktor des Spielprinzips läßt sich kurz und prägnant mit "Alles abschießen, was sich bewegt" beschreiben. Das klingt etwas dumpf, macht aber Spaß. Die Automaten-Umsetzung gelang ohne große Qualitätsverluste und bietet sehenswerte Grafik sowie eine tadellose Steuerung.
Scrolling's smooth buy way too slow to keep up with badly designed player sprite. Other characters aren't much better but backgrounds are pleasant enough. Effects are weak with decent music; however, gameplay is old-fashioned and unexciting.
Alles in allem ist TIME SOLDIER eines der schlechtesten Programme, die in letzter Zeit in der ASM-Redaktion eintraten. Wer dieses Spiel auf die Menschheit losgelassen hat, gehört bestraft - mit mindestens einer Zwangs-Spielstunde TIME SOLDIER. Schon allein das Cover läßt den vorsichtigen Käufer erkennen, wie unprofessionell hier zu Werke gegangen wurde. Ein halbwegs begabter Kunstschüler zeichnet sowas in der 9. Klasse schon besser...
