Atlantis: The Lost Tales

Atlantis nie jest grą rewelacyjną, jednak nie jest też programem złym. Nawet dziś, w kilka lat po premierze, wydaje się być nieco lepszy od przeciętnej. Owszem, widać wyraźnie, iż program został tknięty nieubłaganym zębem czasu, jednak... to nie jest klasyczna klasyka :), w której piksele kłują w oczy, zaś dźwięk jest gorzej niż żenujący. Odkąd pojawiły się gry na CD-ROMach, pojęcie przestarzałej oprawy muzycznej zdezaktualizowało się. Również i przerywniki filmowe niewiele się przez ten czas rozwinęły. W efekcie to, co było znakomite kilka lat temu, wciąż pozostaje dobre. Wciąż wciąga i frapuje, a w konfrontacji z niektórymi świeżymi tytułami udowadnia, że ma się całkiem dobrze. I tak jest właśnie z Atlantis. Sięgnij po nią - pożycz od kumpla lub kup za 20 zł na Allegro - nie będziesz żałował.

In the end, Atlantis – The Lost Tales is a very enjoyable game, but it does not live up to its full potential. The story is quite immersive and fascinating. Seth’s journey cleverly builds from its humble beginnings into something deeper and more insightful. The environments are quite alluring and beautiful. The graphics depict truly pleasant landscapes, beckoning players to unlock the secrets of an ancient civilization. The mystical tunes of the game’s soundtrack are extremely fitting for the locations you will be exploring. The voice acting is generally nicely handled and there is most definitely enough content over the game’s four CD’s to keep adventurers busy for a while. However, an array of problems does hurt the game play experience. The issues with the puzzles and the conversation system might be too hard to overlook for some players.

Atlantis är i mina ögon ett bra spel, Cryos hittills bästa. Spelet passar de flesta och skänker många timmars underhållning. Ta en tur i ett luftskepp när du hälsar på i Atlantis, utsikten är oslagbar. Gå bara till lufthamnen och fråga efter Hector, hälsa från mig så hjälper han dig. Bra gjort Cryo och IQ, mer sånt här tack. Suggestivt, välgjort och (faktiskt) intressant äventyrsspel av klassiskt snitt.

With tight controls and exceptional graphics, there really isn't much more to say about Disney's Atlantis other than it has 4 vehicles, 6 playable characters throughout the game and 12 worlds to explore. The only draw back for the game would be that some veterans might finish it a little fast, but other than that, it is a top-notch game.

Jednak to nie grafika jest w przygodówce najważniejsza, zwłaszcza, jeśli to gra, która ma tak fantastyczny klimat. Faktycznie posiada ona trochę buraków i niedociągnięć, ale dla mnie jest to wspaniała przygoda i najlepsza gra Cryo. Atlantis ma jeszcze jeden wielki plus. W sklepach można ją kupić w Strefie Niskich Cen za 39.90 zł (w małym pudełku - szkoda, że nie jest to miniatura oryginalnego opakowania, bo jest ono po prostu przepiękne). Takim stosunkiem cena/jakość nie może się pochwalić obecnie żadna przygodówka na rynku. Atlantis to gra stara, ale jara.

"Atlantis" warto zobaczyć, zwłaszcza, że jak twierdzą autorzy jej stworzenie zabrało by jednej osobie prawie 20 lat pracy - wysiłek godny uznania. A więc TOWARZYSZE WSZYSTKICH KRÓLOWYCH ŁĄCZCIE SIĘ !

Jeg har næsten ondt af Cryo. Her har de lavet et spændende adventurespil, der lyder godt og ser helt fantastisk ud - og så er spillet tynget af dumme fejl. Faktum er: Det der kunne have været en klassiker, ender med 'kun' at være et rigtig godt spil.

Atlantis: The Lost Tales is an average game in the tradition of Myst. It provides a new story for the often overused Atlantis theme, and shows off its great OMNI 3D technology. There are worse 3D adventure games you could buy, and there are better. If you are eagerly waiting for Riven, the sequel to Myst, this one might help you bide your time a little longer, but it definitely won't be a substitute.

Atlantis is een hele mooie en vooral uitgebreide game voor de fanatieke puzzelaar met zeeën van tijd. Jammer dat de constante laadtijden van de PlayStation het vrolijk rondwandelen over Atlantis bijna onmogelijk maken.

Als je altijd al eens een adventure wilde proberen, maar nooit durfde uit angst dat je geen jota van dat Engels zou begrijpen, dan ligt er nu een mooi nieuwe spel in de winkel. Geharde adventure fanaten kunnen zich echter beter onthouden, want daarvoor is Atlantis te beperkt en lineair.

Создатели "Атлантиса" постарались заполнить игру элементами из серии "народ это любит": Myst-образные механистические пазлы прекрасно уживаются с задачками на быстроту реакции и выбор правильной линии в маловразумительном, как это водится у Cryo, диалоге. Увы, они только разрушают ту чудную, абсолютно немыслимую для современной игрушки, но такую органичную фирменную ткань игры от Cryo. Как не хочется бегать, крутить какие-то рукоятки, болтать с кем бы то ни было, когда вокруг такая лепота! Бродить, бродить и еще раз бродить, постоянно озираясь по сторонам и задирая голову, чтобы разглядеть небо, - вот в чем суть "Атлантиса", и на четырех компакт-дисках этой сути - вагон и маленькая тележка, от видов Северного полюса до южных морей.

For players hankering after something a little less frantic than the typical 1997 PC release - and who can muster the patience to enjoy the game's relaxed atmosphere - Atlantis will provide many hours of enjoyment. It's certainly not a game suited to all tastes, but it successfully achieves its aims.

I really loved the graphics and the music and the story was interesting, though the dialogue was rather dreary and predictable. I really wanted to enjoy Atlantis, but it didn't live up to its early promise, it became frustrating and annoying for the reasons already mentioned. Of course, if you love rapid reaction sequences in adventure games then, please ignore my complaints, this one might just be for you. Just a final thought, the Atlanteans must have been at the forefront of cloning technology as all the guards looked exactly the same.

Cryo Interactive Entertainment is known for the lavish graphics in its adventure titles. Atlantis -The Lost Tales- is no exception. Based on the mythical city of Atlantis, the designers have concocted an elaborate tale of good versus evil for this adventure. While the game itself is far from being flawless, there are enough enjoyable elements to satisfy adventure fans to outweigh the nuisance created by the game’s non intuitive interface.

F-R-U-S-T! Daß Cryo ein meisterliches Händchen für tolle Grafik und Begleitmusik hat und wirklich abwechslungsreiches Gameplay zustandebringt, läßt sich nicht abstreiten. Aber mußte es wirklich sein, daß Enos Leben ständig an einem seidenen Faden hängt? Ein falscher Schritt - und schon muß das Kapitel wieder ganz von vorne begonnen werden, zweimal, dreimal, viermal und stellenweise noch öfter. Wenn solche Situationen mit gesundem Menschenverstand zu meistern wären, könnte man noch ein Auge zudrücken, bei Atlantis sind viele Aufgaben aber schlichtweg unlogisch - und das erzeugt Frust beim Spieler.

If you'd asked me what I thought of Atlantis: The Lost Tales after my first couple of hours playing it, I'd have said it was the best graphic adventure I'd played in a long time and I was really looking forward to getting deeper into it. But you'd have heard a very different song if you'd hit me with the same question just a few gameplay hours later - one whose chorus would go something like "Why? Why? Why?" because there's simply no excuse for several of the problems.
