DescriptionAtom Zombie Smasher is a tower defense game in which the player, not entirely surprising, has to save a city from zombie attacks. Before every round the player chooses the city area he wants to fight in and the soldiers he wants to use. Available are different types of soldiers which can be used, e.g. snipers or artillery, as well as gear like mines or barricades. Like in other similar games, before the round starts, the player distributes his soldiers over the map to gain a tactical advantage - but unlike other tower defense games there he still has a certain degree of control during the round, for example he can relocate troops and manually trigger bombs.
The whole game is played in a top-down view of the city; civilians, zombies and soldiers are represented by differently coloured squares. When the round starts, those walk on predefined paths through the city and if a zombie meets civilians, they turn into zombies. During the first levels the player has no chance of repelling the zombie attacks; his goal is to save as many civilians as possible. But since only one area can be defended at once, but zombies can attack multiple areas, this doesn't work forever. Fortunately successful efforts reward victory points which unlock better methods for killing zombies and rescued scientists also work on better gear. A district is saved when all zombies are killed before nightfall. The winning condition of the game is to get 6000 victory points.
