Overall, Austin Powers Operation: Trivia is a solid game. A very entertaining and humorous way to pass the time, Operation: Trivia should make it to the shelf of You Don’t Know Jack fans, Austin Powers connoisseurs, and especially those who are both.

Lots of interesting questions that you oddly know but don't where you learned the answers to. If you really want to get an edge in the game, watch Austin Powers--International Man of Mystery a few times (not like you already haven't). The game is right up the "You Don't Know Jack" alley so if you were even halfway impressed with "Jack" give "Austin" a how's-your-father. YEAH BABY!

While this obvious movie tie-in lacks some of the ingenuity of the You Don't Know Jack series, Austin Powers trivia does hold its own and maintains its fun 1970-ish theme throughout. The price of $29.95 (suggested retail price) also seems a bit high to me, as games of this nature would likely sell better if they were closer to $20. Still, although single players will be hard-pressed to win, the game does challenge the seasoned trivia buff, and, with its wacky world of the International Man of Mystery, should entertain especially Austin Powers fans.

The main problem I had with the game was that you didn't really get a reward for winning. If you didn't make enough money to win the game, it goes into a little credits sequence where you hear your opponent's prize package being awarded. If you did make enough money, it goes into a little credits sequence where you hear your own prize package being awarded. It's exactly the same; I thought that was pretty weak. If you're getting into this game just for the value of the trivia, it's pretty good, and it'll keep you interested for a while. It's probably not something you'll play very often by yourself, though, which I bet is just how Austin Powers likes it.

Austin Powers Operation: Trivia is a party game, pure and simple, and Austin Powers fans will love it. But if you play on your own, or bristle when you hear the word "shagadelic," this one's not your bag, baby.

In a nutshell: It's fun and it's festive, but it's a little too much like all the other Berkeley trivia games.

In the end (oh, behave!), Austin Powers Operation: Trivia is a mixed bag. While at some points it's more fun than a pair of cheerleader twins, other times it just feels like you're watching a commercial for the Austin Powers movies. If you're in the market for a trivia game, you're better off with You Don't Know Jack. But, if you're a big Austin Powers fan, than this game is perfect for you. Now, I'm off to fight crime . . . care for a ride in my Shaguar?

If you're a die-hard Austin Powers fan then you might enjoy Operation Trivia, although the inaccurate impersonation of Austin may annoy you. If you didn't like the movies then steer well clear -- you'll like the game even less. This is a game suited to occasional play when you're in the mood -- overdoing it can quickly make even Mr. Bigglesworth very angry.

Unless you've been in a cryogenic sleep since the Sixties, you're unlikely to find much in the way of innovation, even if it is fun for a while. Austin Powers is more of an Operation: Cash-in. Go capitalism, indeed.

With a totally shagadellic sequel in theaters, what could be a better time to unleash an Austin Powers trivia game onto the world? Utilizing the tried-and-true style of its You Don't Know Jack games, Berkeley Systems has hatched Austin Powers: Operation Trivia. Although the game starts on a fun and promising note, Operation Trivia quickly comes to resemble one of Dr. Evil's botched plots to take over the world. If you've already grown cynical about all the product tie-ins to the new Austin Powers film, then this game will confirm your suspicions that Austin Powers has become more about making money for the studio than having a good time.
