If Duke Nukem isn't bad enough to do it himself, how can I be?
Stage 1 starts and here comes the very first ninja you have to fight.
Red ninjas carry weapons and power-ups that are dropped when they're defeated.
The first boss is Karnov. I guess it makes sense, him being Russian and the president of the USA having been kidnapped during the Cold War period.
After defeating a boss our hero will reassure himself that he's fit for the job screaming "I'm bad"!
Stage two starts with our hero on top of a truck. Ninjas will come from the sides of the truck, from the top of cars and even running in the street.
After the truck stops, the second boss attacks.
Stage 3 takes place in the sewers. Some ninjas come from the water breathing through a straw, as can be seen here.
The third boss splits himself in 8 clones to fight you. You must defeat all 8 to deal damage to his real self.
Things get pretty crowded when the boss splits.
Stage 4, a forest. Here some dogs attacks the player.
Some ninjas will set their own bodies on fire and come running toward you, while others will pass through flipping, like the one who's hitting me.
Performing a spin kick against the 4th boss.
Stage 5, on a train. Avoiding being hit by a shuriken as a ninja appears in front of me from a smoke cloud.
A cliché in beat'em ups, the first boss comes back in a different palette.
An extra-time power-up. The train wagon brings a reference to another Data East Soviet hero: Chelnov.
Delivering a flaming punch to the fifth boss' face.
Stage 6 takes place in a cave. Several dangers await such as stalactites and bamboo traps.
The sixth boss uses a bō as a weapon, spinning it against you and using it to jump.
Stage 7 takes place in some sort of factory or military base.
Another tradition in beat'em ups, now it is time to revisit all stage bosses. After beating Karnov again you'll face the boss from the second stage in order to take the elevator.
After beating the previous bosses, here comes the stage 7 boss.
Ninjas are quick
The fire boss you come up against can breath fire
The second level sees you on top of moving lorries
Nunchukahs give you more reach
Carefully jump to the next lorry because if you fall you lose a life
