When a game like this comes along that is so strong, and this good, it's hard to cover every aspect of it. But I think you'll find by the pictures and the videos you should watch, you'll see just how deep the game is. Ubisoft has finally done justice to the Dark Knight, and they should be proud, very proud, of the job they did. And what a way to launch a new console. Nintendo gets Kudos for picking this game up! Microsoft will get the same Kudos when Batman Vengance arrives on it's system later this year. Whichever console you have right now, this is a must have for your collection!

Finally, a good Batman game -- that doesn't star the kid the WB is trying to pass as Batman. Fans of the old BAtman cartoons will love this game because of all the special features Ubi Soft has included for them. If you're a diehard fan, you can expect a lot of cool stuff. Most of the game is ripped directly from the cartoon, and often times make you feel like your right in it. For anyone who thought of wandering Gotham at night and being Batman for a day, you can't go wrong with this game.

Batman Vengeance was definitely much more than I expected due to the high production quality found within the game. I was shocked at how much I enjoyed actually participating in a living cartoon in the form of an animated game that so closely resembled the show on which it was based. Overall this game will provide many hours of enjoyment. I am looking forward to finishing Batman’s quest to save Gotham city and I am certain you will also. I highly recommend this game for anyone who enjoys great action, adventure, superheroes, and especially Batman!

While my experience was overwhelmingly positive, I did uncover a few flaws. The "C" stick used to target enemies is far too sensitive, and the camerawork is awkward at times, especially on the ledges of tall buildings. In your first encounter with the Joker, you can hear him, but you can't tell where the heck he is! Finally, it would be nice if when you picked up an item the game actually told you what the freakin' thing was! But don't let these problems steer you away from this above-average superhero title.

Vengeance contains over 40 minutes of cinematics that blend nicely into the storyline. There are over 20 levels of punching, jumping, flying, diving, and puzzle solving mayhem. The only things holding this game back are occasional camera difficulties and the fact that Batman's partner is Batgirl. What happened to Robin?

Flaws aside, Batman: Vengeance is still an exceptional example of a genre hounded by truly awful offerings. Most superhero games get hampered by insipid, uninspired design that tries to do nothing interesting at all with such popular characters like Superman, Blade, and Batman. Thankfully, Ubi Soft's effort to create a truly impressive look and feel has paid off here. While the gameplay could still use some refinement and focus, the overall Vengeance adventure is an engaging and entertaining one.

Batman Vengeance was a tough game to review. The graphics to many may seem below par, but fans of the recent animated series will appreciate just how well UbiSoft have transferred the artistic style of the TV show to this game. All the characters look and move exactly as you would expect while the voice acting is quite brilliant. Fortunately the gameplay is varied enough to hold your interest through the entire game. If your a fan of Batman in any form then you will likely get much out of this title which is as close to being the actual super hero as many of us are likely to ever be. This game comes highly recommended.

How many Batman games have hit the market during the course of the franchise? Five? 10? 40? We don't know for sure, but given that the quality of each respective release has almost always been excessively poor, the number is probably too high -- whatever it is. The truth is that over the years the Dark Knight and bad, bad videogames have gone hand in hand. But with the release of Batman Vengeance for GameCube, developer Ubi Soft has proven that it doesn't need to be that way -- that, in fact, the Caped Crusader can star in a piece of software worthy of playing.

Batman: Vengeance is one of the best Batman games I've played, albeit with a few minor flaws. If you're looking to experience the world of the caped crusader (and walk a mile in his boots), you will surely have bat-barrels of fun with this title. Those gamers interested in more depth of gameplay other than punch, jump, destroy and rescue should look elsewhere. It's been a while since the last solid adventure in the Batman world, and despite a few control flaws, this game has what it takes.

Batman Vengeance is not the most impressive GameCube game available, but it certainly provides a wonderful Batman video game… Something no other previous licensed Batman game has done. It can be annoying in some parts, but it’s very solid and well designed overall. For Bat-fans, it’s a slice of heaven… Or at least proof that Batman games don’t have to suck.

The game was easy to install. There is Multilanguage support which I think is cool. The graphics are pretty good. They run real smooth and have a simple design, comic/cartoon like. The sound effects and voice acting was well done. For controls you are using the mouse and keyboard. There are many confusing key commands, but often times they can land you some nice combo moves. The dual camera perspective idea is nice but poorly implemented. The game ran pretty stable for me with no crashes. This game is ported from PS2 and Gameboy. It is real fun and pretty clean. I just wish the interface wasn't so rough around the edges.

The game has quite a long lifespan. It starts off fairly easy, guiding you all the way, then, when you're fully into the game, the difficulty increases greatly, and you have a fairly long lasting game. However, the game does get a bit repetitive, with too many enemies of the same kind attacking you before you make any progress from one section to another. Another small niggle of the game is the controls. They are unique, and awkward to get used to. It'll take a while to master, but they do cater for everything without the need to access cumbersome menus to gain every piece of inventory. The controls could have been improved.

The game itself is not the next-generation butt-kicking game I hoped it would be, but it is a fun, varied title that, despite harboring some awkward control here, and simplistic design there, winds up being a respectable arcade game, steeped in Batman lore. It's packed with gadgets and Batman stuff, boss levels that show off at least a few of Batman's better known enemies (The Joker, Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, and Mr. Freeze), and it lets you drive the Batmobile and fly the Batplane. It's a good game, not a great one, but if you're a fan of Batman in any shape or form, you'll enjoy it. It's also very kid-safe stuff.

Lovers of Batman (the cartoon or old-school) and proprietors of Nintendo will have a comfortable 10-hour romp with Batman: Vengeance. I'm optimistic in seeing a handful of solid licensed games come out, but still think Nintendo better get their acts straight. The majority of their releases, are spectacular but are beaten in under 10-hours (Luigis Mansion, Rogue Squadron).

There have been just about too many Batman games in existence for over the last decade. I don't understand it, but why did it take so long for one company to finally get the basics right? Be assured, that while Batman: Vengeance isn't the greatest game to own on your console, it's a sure fire way to get the best out of playing as the dark hero. Whether you've ever seen the animated series or not, Batman: Vengeance is a great title to flip through in order to become aquatinted with the show's history. And because Vengeance is the best Batman game in a long time, you'd have to be batty not to want to play the title.

Batman: Vengeance succeeds at what it set out to do--it puts you into the role of Batman. Every major aspect of the character is presented in some way in the game. Those looking for that sort of experience should be pleased, but hard-core game players might not appreciate the tribute in the same way. Suffice it to say, it's not competing with games like Devil May Cry and Metal Gear Solid 2, it's competing against Spider-Man and Superman, and in that scenario, it fares pretty well. Batman: Vengeance may not be one of the year's best overall, but it is one of those incredibly rare birds known as a good licensed game, and hopefully it marks the end of what has been, until now, a disappointing trend in Batman games.

Despite some of its rough edges, Vengeance delivers a fun ride into Batman's universe. The pace is quick, the visuals pleasant and the writing as tight as its television counterpart. If this game didn't sport the all-powerful Batlicense, chances are it might be looked at as yet another very derivative game -- primarily because it is. But as mildly entertaining as it is, it's probably one of the best superhero-based games ever released. As a gift for the younger fans, this is worth the $50.

Being the newest game in the BatMan franchise this proves to be the best one ever made, in my opinion. Even though a port, it's a welcoming addition to the BatMan loving Xbox fans out there. The game should give off enough fun for anyone who likes a decent action game and a decent crusader. Overall it shines brilliantly compared to other titles of its franchise, but still falls short in some areas, mainly having to do with gameplay. Hopefully, other titles will take BatMan: Vengeance to example and improve upon it for better games in the future. This is the beginning of what could possibly end all bad views of the BatMan games forever and prove once and for all that the Dark Knight is the true protector of justice.

The PlayStation 2 version of Batman: Vengeance received lukewarm reviews in our November issue, and Xbox fans will be upset to hear that this version is no better or worse. As far as my eyes could tell, it’s virtually identical in every way. The graphics are still breathtaking, and I have to give Ubi Soft credit for the fine job it did in mimicking the stylish look of the television show. Xbox could use a good game in this genre, and I was hoping this would be it. Unfortunately, Batman: Vengeance for the Xbox doesn’t correct any of the mistakes made by its PS2 predecessor. The platforming is still extremely annoying. There still isn’t an adjustable camera system. The Bat-gadgets are still little more than window dressing on what is a very run-of-the-mill title.

Never before in my near three years of reviewing video games have I witnessed such a high-quality translation of cartoon to video game. Not only has Ubi Soft managed to perfectly model a 3D version of Batman: The Animated Series, all the added details make Batman: Vengeance feel like an extended episode of the cartoon. With a storyline written in collaboration with the Warner Bros. production house and character voice-overs done by the actual actors from the cartoon, no expense was spared to make the game a near parallel to the television show. Even the music, which jumps and shifts with the locales and action, is a well-crafted pleasure. Batman: Vengeance truly is a joy to watch and listen to.

The X-Box version is quite honestly the cleanest version that you can own of the three. With the power that the X-Box seems to be able to produce in the visual sense, you'll find that most of what is here is completely clean of the jagged edges, but it still fails to keep up in the detailing department! Game play in Batman hasn't changed a bit either and your main focus is to run through the entire game and kick the crap out of anything that gets in your way while staying alive. If you've managed to miss this title on the Game Cube and the Play Station 2, then it is worth a rental, but buying this game really isn't an option unless you're looking to collect X-Box games.

Batman Vengeance is the most faithful rendition of the Batman animated series yet. The graphics are appropriately dark and angular, successfully evoking the series dark deco look, and the animation is fast and dynamic. The end result, however is marred my occasional murkiness and poor collision detection. The music is a full-on epic assault on the ears, and the sound effects are extremely effective.

Batman Vengeance game has more gameplay elements such as free fall diving to grab objects, badguys or to even save hostages from their deaths. Along with that you can drive the Batmobile and fly the Batplane in certain situations. On other occasions Batman is presented with easy to solve puzzles which even a toddler can solve. The game difficulty level is unbalanced, I found it much more difficult to battle The Joker’s thugs than battling the Joker himself... kind of odd if you ask me. Most of the time I would find myself running away from The Joker’s thugs instead of dukking it out with them.

The presentation and polishing of Batman: Vengeance is all first-rate. It’s the crappy camera management and the twisted control scheme (without the game pad) that make it more of a chore to play than it should be. I finished the game because I really wanted to know how the story ended, but when it was all over I felt like I should get a “I completed Batman: Vengeance” T-shirt for all the work I had done. The next game that I review had better be better, or I’ll be exacting a little vengeance of my own.

Batman: Vengeance is based on Paul Dini and Bruce Timm's critically acclaimed cartoon, and as such, this game has a lot to live up to. Ubi Soft did a terrific job of recreating the mood and overall feel of the series. Had they put as much time and effort in the gameplay department, this game could have been great. As it sits, Vengeance is little more then a mildly entertaining platform/FPS game that will undoubtedly sell through the roof due to its monolithic fan-base potential and the fact that this game is being ported to every last NextGEN system, GBA included.

The opening sequence in this title had me believing that, at last, the ultimate Batman game had been created.

Master filmmaker Tim Burton honed a vision of Batman on the big screen that was that of noir, applying his uniquely offbeat style to the existing franchise. His film became and has remained the template upon which all future iterations of the dark knight are based. UbiSoft has certainly performed admirably in recapturing this spirit, but has ultimately failed to provide the intuitive gameplay necessary to guide ‘joe’ gamer through its creation. In noir, there are no heroes; malevolence absolutely dominant in the corrupted Gotham wasteland. Batman however, is a constant, an ever-glimmering paradox that may someday lead the land into a brightened future. One can only hope that his virtual sculptors at UbiSoft mirror his own destiny by rendering the definitive, consummate videogame we’ve been waiting for. Alas, Vengeance is not it.

Still, with Batman: Vengeance, Ubi Soft is definitely heading in the right direction. Next time, I just hope that the gameplay is designed to cater to the hard-core market, as well.

Finally, you should know that it won't take you a long time to complete Batman Vengeance. The game is comparable to Activision's recently released title Spider-Man: The Movie, but it's far less attractive and ultimately more frustrating. Similar to Spidey, I suppose it's fun and cool in that super-hero kind of way, but only for few hours. After that, it just becomes dull.

Batman Vengeance is another game in a long line of poorly done console ports. While the source material provides a rich and sometimes fun gaming experience, the overall game falls short on too many other points. The lack luster gameplay will leave you scratching your head after seeing the Batman cartoon series nearly brought to life on your PC. The game is entirely too short, and the jumping puzzles seem to have been more difficult simply to extend the life of the game.

Commercial tie-ins are a huge missed opportunity. People who normally wouldn't be interested in SimCity or Quake III: Arena can often be enticed into picking up a copy of Spider-Man. In a rational world, companies would put their best foot forward on these projects, ensuring a strong influx of new game fans and hefty future revenues. Alas, we don't live in a rational world, and for every Jedi Knight or TIE Fighter, there's an E.T.: The Extraterrestrial to match. Sadly, Batman: Vengeance, the PC version of last year's console title, is unable to overcome this curse.

Well, it feels like it's taken 30 days to create Batman: Vengeance, but I'm sure it actually took at least 40. Batman: Vengeance fails to be a good game. It just fails. Simple as that. It's not good enough. It could have been better. It's flawed. No mustard is cut. There is no cigar.

The overwhelming feeling of an unfinished game compelled me to check the CD to make sure it didn’t have “beta” scrawled on it. When I realized it was final code, all I heard was the sound of a guillotine coming down on ol’ Bats. That alone should be a warning to any gamer wanting to plunk down money for this crap.
