Amazing-looking arcader that sets standards, break moulds and does a lot of other groovy things too. It's the best blast I've seen in a long time.

This is it! We've been psyched about the Battletoads since we first heard about them! Now that Rare and Tradewest are ready to cut loose with Battletoads.

Excellent! Radical! Most triumphant! If Battletoads doesn't make you laugh at the hysterical animations, or fry your brain cells with utter amazement, you are reading the wrong mag! The amount of work that went into this game is phenomenal! This'll make up for Double Dragon.

A toadal (aagh!) gameplaying extravaganza! Heaps of different games in one cart make Battletoads a real treat for GB arcade fans.

Battletoads on the GameBoy isn't too bad, I must say. Above average music, cool multi-speed scrolling, and a difficult skill level make this game enjoyable enough to play, but personally if you have an NES 8-bit buy it for that unless you really want it for the road.

With twelve big and varied levels to test your skills, Battletoads is a definite winner! Move over Turtles and make way for the new breed!

Most kids will probably accept Battletoads (Tradewest, for Genesis), as a good-humored rip-off of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Webbed hands-down, Battletoads is a solid action/adventure cart for the Game Gear. It offers interesting characters, sharp graphics, simple gameplay and a tough, but not insurmountable challenge. Gamers who've already played the NES, Genesis or Gameboy versions won't find anything new and may want to wait for the sequel. On the other hand, Battletoads neophytes can't miss with this fun cart. Last one in the pond is a rotten egg!

The Toads actually make a pretty good Gameboy cart. The animations are still intact and the most of the funky moves are there as well. The music is well done and sounds great in studio. The gameplay is just as intense as the NES version and well-deserving of the name.

The quirky animations are comical, and you'll even see Space Invader icons towing power-ups. Sadly, most gamers won't appreciate all that Battletoads has to offer, because the game is too [expletive] hard - even with continues! Battletoads supports two-player simultaneous action, but that doesn't make things any easier. If not for my trusty Game Genie, I don't think I would have been able to review this game. Except for the excessive difficulty, there's not much to dislike, except maybe that annoying drumbeat that plays when the game is paused. Battletoads will suck you in with its quality gameplay, only to demoralize you with its relentless difficulty. Even if you like your games hard as nails, Battletoads will beat you into submission and teach you the meaning of pain. Punk!

Hey, I think I remember this game from a couple of years ago. Will the trend of bringing older games to the portable systems ever end? Anyway, for those who thoroughly enjoyed the old Battletoads games, you know what to expect here.. This is a solid game that offers plenty of action with tons of enemies and a difficulty level sure to challenge any avid player.

Fortunately, the fun still remains in all its glory as there's always something to pummel or some new pattern to memorize. Battletoads consistently delivers a fun experience, heightened even more by the two-player mode. For those not obsessed with bigger and better graphics, you'll definitely want to track this one down!

Battletoads has a lot going for it. It's challenging, fun, and controls well. There is though a disappointing feeling of “what could have been, as Rare had two years to fix it's fan-proclaimed “classic into an excellent Genesis game. Instead, what we received is too similar to its NES counterpart. While the expected upgrades to the sound and graphics were made, adjustments and additions were completely overlooked. Battletoads for the Genesis thusly feels dated. And when sitting next to superior games like Streets of Rage, the game becomes less attractive. If you can find it cheap (and don't already own it for the NES) I would definitely recommend it as a purchase. It's just not worth going out of your way for.

Die Grafik sieht gut aus: Sie ist jedoch so schnell, daß Angreifer einfach nicht zu sehen sind. Einzig die netten Extrawaffen retten den Spielspaß in die gehobene Mittelklasse.

Battletoads is a game that started out with great promise but ended up in the "hopper" so to speak. If you're into raucous-raising reptiles, TMNT still seems to be the best bet, Cowabunga!

The same graphical style that players found on the NES is found here... exactly. With the absence of flicker, this looks like an exact copy. The cinemas are bit more colorful, but that's it. Still, even though it's not pushing the hardware, it does have a nice style and the characters are classic. Players can choose between either sound effects or music, but never both. For some reason, I could never choose the music. The menu simply wouldn't let me (above rating reflects that). The sound effects are sparse but serviceable. It's hard to see such a classic butchered like this. Nothing has been done to upgrade the game to take advantage of the CD32's extra horsepower. The single control flaw is one of the most infuriating aspects I've ever encountered while playing a video game. Give the game some music and an extra button and you've got a carbon copy of the NES game.

Det är när man ser spel som Battletoads som man börjar tvivla på speltillverkarnas mentala hälsa. Hur kan något så dåligt över huvud taget få släppas på marknanden?
