On the whole, Beach Head 2002 is a fun little time waster that keeps on bringing the fun with countless levels of increasing difficulty. It may not be the most graphically intense production of the year, but that was obviously not the intent of Infogrames when they created this title. In this reviewer's opinion, what they were shooting for was a simple game that could effectively eat up hours of your day without you even knowing it. They definitely succeeded. If you are looking for mind-blowing realism, look elsewhere. But if you are looking for a good way to waste away the day, look no further. It's easy, fun, and very, very addictive..

I believe that a small niche of gamers will find this game simply awesome. If you are looking for something you can immediately just throw in the drive and start playing this is it. If you are looking for re-playability, you may want to pass on this one.

While my rating for this game is fairly low, the game certainly has some value. It’s a game some people I know would really get a kick out of, and there must be those who liked this series. This is the second one after all. It’s a great game to boot up and squeeze off a few rounds during your lunch break. Yet, I’d rather spend my few minutes of spare time playing a puzzle game or doing a crossword. So, there is my review in a nutshell. If you’re looking for something to pass the time and you don’t feel like teasing the noggin, by all means try Beach Head. For the rest of you, you’ll probably get more enjoyment out of a game a Mahjongg or maybe even chatting on the IMG IRC channel.

Don't waste your cash, even though the game carries a $20.00 price tag. Considering today's theatre prices, you'll get more bang-for-your-buck out of a double feature than you will playing this game. If you really want to see a quality beach head assault, get Castle Wolfenstein and play multiplayer.

Beach Head 2002 delivers arcade-style shooting in its most basic--and repetitive--form. If the idea of endlessly shooting wave after wave of the same few enemies with the same few guns in the same exact environment appeals to you, you're better off buying Beach Head 2000 from the bargain bin. If you've played and enjoyed the previous game, Beach Head 2002 is more of the same with some minor tweaks, but those few tweaks are not worth the game's $20 retail price.

As a lover of retro arcade shooters, I went into evaluating this title thinking that Beach Head 2002 would be exactly up my alley. Instead, I must sadly conclude that any opportunity to create a fun yet simple combat experience was truly squandered by the developer. What with so little variety in weapons, foes, or physical settings, the game loses what little charm it has in a mere matter of minutes. No aspect of the offering is up to current retail game standards, and most of it fails to qualify as a fulfilling minimum given current shareware thresholds either. You would think that since this is a sequel to Beach Head 2000 some depth, customizability and replay value would have been added, but such is generally not the case. So if you need to get out your aggressive impulses by plugging enemies full of lead, go to a rifle range instead.

First, it's easy to learn. Second, the basic arcade action is kind of fun in short doses. Third, you can save your game at any level so you don't need to go back to the beginning each time you load it up. Fourth, if you blow up a troop transport just as the anonymous enemy is exiting it, they all catch fire and dance a little jig before they idea.
