I tried to put aside personal bias when reviewing this game. I was the target audience, so it wasn't hard to keep them in mind while reviewing. I feel like this game is easily the best Harmonix release to date, easily the best music simulator to date, and very likely one of the best releases of any genre this year.

The Beatles: Rock Band sets a new standard for how band-focused music games should be executed, one that will be very difficult to match. Beyond all the stylistic flairs and the fan-service touches, this is just an incredibly fun, incredibly accessible bunch of music, with very little filler in its track listing. This isn't a music appreciation class, and I'm not at all qualified as a music critic, but I feel very comfortable saying that the Beatles is one of the most “important” musical acts of the past, let's say, 60 years. This significance warrants the time and detail that has gone into The Beatles: Rock Band, and I'm not sure that there's another band out there that deserves the same treatment. This is a first big step into the digital age for The Beatles, but it might also mark the end for band-specific music games.

But this is a family game, and one notable bit of subversion is plenty. The Beatles: Rock Band lets the Fab Four reclaim their role as the pre-eminent purveyors of pop psychedelia. It’s been decades since The Beatles first touched a tab to the world’s tongue, and the trippy goings-on while the gems for “Octopus’s Garden” and “Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds” tumble down from the heavens are righteous videogame eye candy. Mind-bending, musical games like Rez, Frequency, and Space Giraffe couldn’t have existed if it weren’t for The Beatles. It’s more than a little cool that those same games paved some of the way for The Beatles: Rock Band. That’s revolution.

I must admit that I haven't had this much fun since Guitar Hero was released in Australia so many moons ago, however The Beatles: Rock Band easily usurps all music games for 2009. With perfect gameplay, spectacular graphics and a track listing that can be enjoyed all, Harmonix and MTV Games have successfully recreated the virtual "Fab 4" for the PlayStation 3.

The game also boasts excellent production values with a polished user interface and a sweet auto-calibrate feature. Between stages you'll enjoy brief montages depicting the band going through their various incarnations via vintage photographs and animated artwork. By the time you advance to the final rooftop concert, you'll feel sad that the Beatles had to come to an end. Of course, the fact that the game leaves you wanting more is a testament to its greatness. If you've never gone through a "Beatles phase", now might be a good time.

The Beatles: Rock Band does one thing extremely well: it brings The Beatles’ music to a very strong platform (the Rock Band platform) resulting in a game that is undeniably fun to play. However, this is a Beatles videogame first, and a Rock Band videogame second. What Harmonix was able to do with that was create an unrivaled experience that succeeds at capturing The Beatles’ story and letting you relive those moments. It doesn’t have the breadth of Guitar Hero 5 but it’s an experience you nonetheless owe to yourself.

Whether you like them or not, there's no denying how important The Beatles were -- and continue to be -- to music. Is their Rock Band game as important for games as some people make it out to be? Not quite. But, as far as the music genre goes, it's definitely the best-made game on the market from a presentation standpoint, and it brings the usually-static music genre to a whole new level that others will try -- and fail -- to emulate. Oh, and the music itself is pretty damn good, too. Then again, you already knew that.

If the Rock Band franchise managed to interest non-gaming adult audiences into buying music/rhythm games, The Beatles: Rock Band will not only do the same but it will also reach out to the very last folks who up until now did not care about playing with plastic instruments in front of a television. If games like Pong and Super Mario Bros. managed to pike the interest of mom and dad to play with their kids in the living room, there’s no doubt that The Beatles: Rock Band will make the rest of the family join in and have a great time. Don’t get me wrong, the Guitar Hero and Rock Band games have done great things but I think The Beatles: Rock Band is the ultimate multi-generation gathering videogame.

So right here, right now, I'm saying that everyone who isn't a sworn enemy of the Fab Four should try The Beatles: Rock Band, even if you could never get into them before or couldn't quite understand what some of your more rabid friends could see in them. Head to a Best Buy, go to a friend's house, do what it takes to just give the game a shot. It's not necessary that you buy the full band kit to get the more "authentic" instruments - those, it seems, are made mostly for dedicated fans of the band. They don't house any specific new features, and thankfully, they don't add any new compatibility issues that could cause interoperability problems with other music games. Any Rock Band or Guitar Hero instrument will do. Scrape up a couple of mics, and get in there. Chances are, you'll become a fan.

There is a beautiful synthesis of creativity of the Beatles and creativity from Harmonix working together to make a chart topping game. The game might be light in the customization and expansion department but the Beatles: RB is all about the music and the undeniably legendary set list from a group that transcends time. So whether you're looking to channel Lennon, McCartney, Harrison and Starr, or just after a few more songs to wield your plastic axe to, then this is a definite buy. With the Beatles able to stake claim to what is certainly a diverse and vibrant catalogue of songs, a nice variety of playing styles are catered for and some of the harder songs will certainly prove a challenge. When you do finally get bored of the default setlist, more Beatles songs will be appearing on the Music Store, which currently offers the fantastic "All You Need Is Love" for your personal enjoyment. If you never read another of my reviews or even deign to heed what I have to type; read this carefully. BUY IT!

In terms of actual gameplay, Beatles: Rock Band does nothing revolutionary. Where the revolution occurs, instead, is in the game's presentation, which brings new life -- and a new type of life -- to the static genre.

What's my final verdict on Beatles: Rock Band for the Wii? It's everything I was expecting it to be and more. It's fun to play, it has just the right amount of challenge, and just about everyone can jump in and enjoy themselves. It has all of the features of the other consoles, and it shows proper respect to the Beatles' legacy. It's one of the finest games I've played.

Any Beatles fan with a gaming console absolutely owes it to themselves to experience The Beatles: Rock Band. If you own instruments from previous Guitar Hero or Rock Band games, feel free to reuse them. The new instruments are nice, but not worth the extra cash, unless you don't have a current set of instruments to use. If you're a fan of The Beatles, this Rock Band game is definitely the music game you want to own this year. It offers a ton of content and replay value, and truly makes for a great experience for you and your friends. I just wish they'd offer a patch to fix the microphone latency...

Those are determinations on which we’ll have to wait and see. At the moment, we can only look at the direction Harmonix took in creating its first band-specific title. It took quite a different route from what Activision has done so far (by picking a band’s best songs and intermingling them with those of other bands, such as Guitar Hero: Metallica having a bunch of tunes from bands that opened for Metallica), and frankly I think the developers created a more compelling package to play and to “watch.” In my view, Harmonix did a great job in crafting a fitting tribute to the Beatles, clearly one of the most significant bands in rock history—but, perhaps more importantly, dramatically raised the bar in the music-game genre.

The Beatles: Rock Band is as much a documentary as it is a game. The Beatles’ venerable music catalog is a great compliment to the Rock Band formula. This game is successful in both drawing new players to the music game genre and exposing a new generation to the music of The Beatles. The lighter difficulty of the game might put off some of the more die-hard music game aficionados but it allows a little bit more attention to be paid to the story that is being told. While it doesn’t break new gaming ground, there is some magic packed into this title.

The Story Mode is much better than expected that covers the whole touring career of the band. The Tutorials are helpful for novices with a Drum Trainer, Practice Mode and regular tutorials. Each instrument has three different practice modes, so there should be no worries when it comes to learning how to sing correctly in The Beatles Rock Band. Six-player support, 40+ songs, three full albums already announced for download content (Abbey Road, Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, and Rubber Soul albums), and superb production values should be enough to attract new and old Rock Band gamers to The Beatles: Rock Band. For Xbox 360 gamers, “All You Need Is Love” is exclusive for a limited time and all proceeds will be donated to Doctors Without Borders. When push comes to shove, The Beatles: Rock Band is a fantastic addition to the genre and, it goes without saying, the music itself it out of this world.

The Beatles: Rock Band is a must have game for Beatles fans. Harmonix has done an excellent job putting together a fun package that highlights the career of one of the most successful bands in our history. Unlike the normal Rock Band series, The Beatles focuses on vocal harmonies while providing a backdrop that everyone knows, and most people like. This makes The Beatles: Rock Band a great game to have included in those Rock Band parties, and additionally one of those games that can be revisited over-and-over. The only downside to The Beatles game is the lack of music that is showcased. Since the Beatles have such a huge library, 45 songs seems a little low, plus the DLC that is available, is only available for a price. If you don’t mind shelling out a few more bucks then your Beatles library will certainly expand. Minor grip aside, you can’t really go wrong here, and the Beatles: Rock Band is one of the outstanding music games of the year.

Once again the developers at Harmonix have shown the gaming industry how it’s done. The company took on a monumental challenge in taking on the best band of all time and building a music game around them—and they pulled it off by treating the music and the band members with the respect that they deserved, and in the end have crafted a game that should be the blueprint for how you approach band-themed games from this point on.

Beatles Rock Band is an interesting conundrum. For what it is it is flawless. The representation of the famous foursome is impeccable and dripping with fan service. The selection of songs is disappointing, but with future DLC you will likely be able to enjoy all of your favorite tunes for a price. Beatles fans need not even hesitate; just buy the game. Whether you are moderately interested or just a casual fan the price of admission is more than worth it. Rock Band fans looking for the next great thing will want to stick with the weekly DLC.

There's a lot of fun to be had going through the history of The Beatles. Songs aren't overly complicated but you get at least one song from every album they've produced. To take a line from the Fab Four, in the end, this is a fantastic game that should be the measurement stick for any future band centric titles. It took Harmonix only one try to make it right and anyone that is even a minor fan of The Beatles should pick this up. If anything it will be a hit at parties. Those that are not Beatles fans can perhaps pick it up for some more songs to play or just to see what all the hooplah is about. I would just say make sure you understand what you are getting into if you aren't a fan. Kudos to everyone that was able to get this game done though because it will certainly be one of the stand out titles of the entire gaming year.

The question has never really been, “Do The Beatles deserve their own game?” In a space where single-band titles are inevitable, there are few bands that truly do deserve to get this kind of treatment. In this case, Harmonix has treated the band’s music, art, and history with a respect and reverence that sets it apart from other similar collections. The question is, how will anyone held responsible for a full band game -- Harmonix or otherwise -- ever really be able to clear the bar that’s been set?

Despite initial reservations over the absence of many of the band's key offerings, it's clear that Harmonix and MTV Games has struck upon the best possible compromise to cater for The Beatles' vast and diverse fan base. Viewed as a piece of fan service for a mass market audience, there's no doubt that The Beatles: Rock Band is a peerless offering that blows any comparable 'band-only' music title out of the water. Doing justice to the greatest band of all time was always going to be a tough job, but The Beatles: Rock Band offers a beautiful tribute to an enduring act.

It's hard to see how this game could have been much better. Every element has been designed with fans in mind - even the loading screens are quite special, since they feature previously-unheard audio of the band warming up. I don't think I've ever seen a game do such a great job of catering to its target audience, and at every step Harmonix displays a deep understanding and appreciation for the Beatles license. One could argue that 45 is a fairly low track number when compared to other entries in the genre, but there's hardly any fat on the line-up and several classic albums will be available to purchase in the coming months from The Beatles: Rock Band Music Store. Personally, I'm not even that massive a Beatles fan - and yet playing this though has reminded me of everything I've ever loved about the band. If you have even a passing fondness for John, Paul, George and Ringo, this game will make you an extremely happy bunny.

The Beatles: Rock Band isn't for everyone. Like, say, people who don't care about The Beatles. If that's you, then move along. For those who have a love or even just a fondness for the Fab Four, Harmonix has created a fantastic tribute. It won't teach you the full history of the world's most celebrated band nor give you even a quarter of their extraordinary catalogue of music, but it's still great. The Beatles went out of their way to do new things. So it's no surprise that a Beatles game doesn't feel at all like the traditional music title. It's special. What Beatles fan would want it any other way?

But even those small complaints couldn't diminish my love for the The Beatles: Rock Band. There's an incredible amount of fun that comes from filing the shoes of some of the most inspiring musicians ever to walk the earth, and Harmonix captures this experience with same sense of magic that the Beatles were known for. It's well worth the price of admission, even if you forgo the replica instruments and stick to your stock Rock Band gear.

As mentioned above, whether or not you purchase The Beatles: Rock Band should ultimately be determined by your feelings about the band itself. If you love, like, or are even lukewarm on the band, grab it. Playing through the songs you've likely heard for your entire life gives you a new appreciation for the level of musicianship and songwriting on display. Somehow, Harmonix found a way to make the greatest band of all time even better.

It might seem obvious but if you’re not a fan of The Beatles then The Beatles: Rock Band probably isn’t for you. I’m certain it can garner in some new fans, but if you’re buying it because you’re a Rock Band fan then you’ll be left disappointed. The “game” part has been pushed aside to create the ultimate fan-club experience of one of the greatest bands ever. Fans will love every moment of it as the foursome from Liverpool triumphantly master yet another medium and finally enter the digital age. It might gloss over some of the turmoil from within the band, but if you want to have a blast playing through each merry-filled era of The Beatles then you can’t go wrong here.

The music is fantastic, the presentation is out of this world (sometimes literally), and all done with the utmost respect and care. As you play the songs the effort that was taken to make this game in true homage to The Beatles is abundantly clear, and it fills everything with a kind of joy and wonderment that few games ever manage. Whether you’re someone who has cherished their songs for years or are just being introduced to them now, if you like music and you like the Rock Band formula you owe it to yourself to experience The Beatles: Rock Band. It’s a total no-brainer as a rental, and probably an easy decision to purchase for anyone with any appreciation for arguably the greatest band of all time. Somewhere members of Aerosmith and Metallica are sitting around wondering why they didn’t get the same kind of treatment in their games, and we can only hope some other bands are paying attention *cou-Led Zeppelin-gh*.

PlayStation 3GameSpot
To a certain extent, this game is great because Beatles music is great. The Beatles: Rock Band is packed to the gills with excellent songs, but its real genius is the way it captures the excitement of playing in a cohesive band. Following the arc of the Beatles' career wouldn't be as engaging without the interesting bonuses and the stunning art design that so elegantly complements the music. Vocal harmonies add an invigorating new dimension to the gameplay, encouraging you to either get more people involved or challenge yourself to be all the rockstar you can be. The Beatles: Rock Band doesn't just let you play the music of one of the greatest bands in history; it knits your band closer together so that you can better experience the camaraderie and excitement of playing in a unified, talented group. This makes any Beatles session great fun and makes The Beatles: Rock Band something special in the world of plastic living room rock.

In The End, The Beatles: Rock Band is a truly amazing game, visually and content wise. The Dreamscapes that accompany the songs are marvels that go well with the music and are amazing to watch on their own. The extras will satisfy every Beatle fan out there, while helping newcomers to their music a better understanding of them and hopefully draw them in more. It’s a digital love letter to one of the greatest bands to ever exist and a very fun music game.

It’s always encouraging when talented forces come together in collaboration, with the express desire to forge something truly special. With a band of The Beatles quality and a developer of similar calibre, we really have to wonder if there was any doubt. The Beatles: Rock Band raises the bar to such a nosebleed-inducing height that we also wonder where the genre is going to take us to next. The rate of acceleration is phenomenal. Whilst we nervously await the announcement of more from Activision (although we’re secretly hoping for Accordion Hero), we can be sure that Harmonix are here on our side, to restore the balance.

The Beatles: Rock Band is definitely a fantastic journey through the career of what is possibly the world’s most beloved music group of all time. It won’t turn those who hate The Beatles into sudden fans, but it does have the power to draw in non-gamers like no game ever has. There is no doubt that it is on the short side, and even though plenty of downloadable content is on the way, I really think there should have been more songs on the disc. Also, despite the additions and changes, this isn’t quite the “built from the ground up” gaming experience that was originally described. The Beatles: Rock Band is exactly what the title says: Rock Band infused by the music of The Beatles. In the end, it is a terrific game that Beatles fans, regardless of gaming experience, will want to play ceaselessly.

We have been hearing a lot that the music genre in video games is starting to hit a decline, but The Beatles: Rock Band obviously had other ideas. The Beatles: Rock Band is not only a great game but it pushes the single artist music games to a new level not even closely matched by any other title. The Beatles: Rock Band is the real deal and if you love The Beatles you going to love this game.

From the artistic design, to the excellent selection of songs, every moment in The Beatles: Rock Band feels just about pitch perfect. It may not reinvent the wheel when it comes to music videogames, but as a band specific title, it’s simply in a league of its own. The Beatles: Rock Band, unlike other games in the genre is the first to create challenge, not through being tough on the player via epic riffs and rock solid drum solos but via the challenge it places upon the band members to create the perfect performance. It’s no longer all about that percentage score at the end of the track, it’s about bringing you and your friends closer together and enjoying the experience of feeling what it may have been like to actually play in The Beatles, if only for a moment.

Harmonix has raised the bar once again. Beatles: Rock Band is the new gold standard for music games. Between the thorough recreation of the band's look and sound, everything about the game shows care and attention to detail. And with replayable elements such as challenges and DLC, Beatles: Rock Band stands on its own two legs. Whether you're a casual fan or a Beatlemaniac, a Rock Band guitar god or a neophyte, Beatles: Rock Band is the game for you. I've got a feeling that if there was ever a game that should be played by anyone and everyone, here, there, and everywhere, Beatles: Rock Band is it.

The Beatles: Rock Band is in many ways a work of art. With stylish visuals, great sound, and that typical Rock Band formula, this game really does pay off in spades. The added bonuses such as pictures and videos giving everyone a small glimpse into the fab four’s lives as iconic musicians really does make this not only a tribute to The Beatles, but it also provides fan service to those who have been listening to them for so long. In the end I don’t think anyone can go wrong buying this game, as it does so many things right on so many levels.

There's no doubt that The Beatles Rock Band represents the best Rock Band experience to date, although the credit for this is really due to the brilliance of the music on display. In having said that, Harmonix have shown great respect and a willingness to present the subject matter in a way that will appeal to everyone, and considering the legal problems associated with doing anything with The Beatles music, it's a wonder the game has been made at all. If you've been holding out for a band experience to kick the summer off with, you won't find better than this.

Overall the Beatles Rockband is a fantastic title if you are a Beatles fan or even have a passing interest. If you aren’t a fan then you won’t get anything from this game so simply move along. The only thing I can really complain about is that there are only 45 tracks in the game. With that being said though there is already a bunch of downloadable content available for this game. Full albums such as “Abbey Road” and “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” are available with more coming in the future. It would have been nice though if they could have included more music on the disc from the Beatles and I hope they didn’t hold any back to try and get a second Beatles Rockband game. Other than that minor complaint this is how a band specific game should be done. It’s a great tribute to the Beatles themselves and a great gift to all of their fans.

The bottom line here is that this is still The freakin’ Beatles in a triumphant rhythm game début. The music is fantastic, the presentation is out of this world (sometimes literally), and all done with the utmost respect and care. As you play the songs the effort that was taken to make this game in true homage to The Beatles is abundantly clear, and it fills everything with a kind of joy and wonderment that few games ever manage.

The critic within us knows that the DLC model and high pricing of the band/instrument sets are stretching the franchise right into the consumers pockets, yet for the most part this is wholly ignorable as the title which sits in our hands is a celebration. A journey with one of the greatest bands ever and that alone makes The Beatles: Rockband a journey worth being a part of.

At 59.99 it may be quite an investment (especially for a Wii game) but it most certainly is an investment well spent. It would have been easy to slap a few Beatles tracks into the existing Rock Band 2 and call it a day. The marketing blitz that's accompanied the release of the game and the recently released remastered albums would have ensured big sales, after all. Instead, Harmonix have created a loving dedication to one of the greatest bands of all time. It might not set the Christmas charts on fire, but it will be a critical darling for years to come. And with Harmonix promising to make full albums available as DLC in the near future, fans will be playing their plastic instruments along with the Fab Four for a while to come. You don't like The Beatles? You will after this.

The Beatles: Rock Band is not only a fitting tribute to the band, but an excellent entry in the Rock Band series. Harmonix Music Systems went beyond what could have been the equivalent of a quick cash-in and created a tailor-made experience which fits the style of The Beatles and provides a platform for Beatles fans and Rock Band fans to play together and experience the career of one of the world’s most famous bands. Minor issues such as inability to transfer songs to Rock Band 2 or 3 and the fact that it is slightly less challenging than the other entries in the series keep it from perfection, but at this point, it’s just nitpicking. The quality and care which went into this game far surpasses any other single band music game ever produced, and unlike the Guitar Hero entries, it's able to stand on its own without the addition of other songs from other bands. If you haven’t already, play this game. Beatles fan or not.

Beatles: Rock Band is so very obviously a labour of love, above and beyond being simply a money spinner. If you like The Beatles, and want to play their music, this is the game for you. If you’re not into them at all, of course, stay well away – while the minor gameplay enhancements are well and good, it’s not enough to keep non-Beatles fans captivated. The key test for single-band music games, I believe, is whether they can offer enough value to those in the middle. This is where Beatles: Rock Band arguably succeeds: its attention to detail, treasure trove of unlockable material, and sheer classiness combines with some highly fun songs to offer something even very casual fans should look into.

At the end of my review I find myself surprised at how many Beatles tracks I really do know. While I don’t own a single Beatles album personally, I have to say that I might just have to pick up a few individual tracks now. I wouldn’t say that this title has made me a Beatles fan per se, but it does exactly what Apple and the folks at Harmonix hoped to accomplish - it’s introduced me to the world of The Beatles - we’ll see if it grows on me. I just know I can’t get The Walrus out of my head…Coo Coo Ca Choo!

But if approachability and shorter song lists are really all that The Beatles: Rock Band have as strikes against it, the game is in decent shape for its anticipated 9/9/09 release. Unless you're a huge Beatles fan, there's no need to go out any drop the additional $250 for Beatles-era instruments, because the existing Rock Band instruments work just fine. There's also no need to rush out and get the game today, because chances are you'll "beat" the game well before the weekend. Our recommendation: let the early adopters get their copy and play through it, then wait a week or two for the used copies to show up on store shelves to save yourself a few bucks. As time has already told, The Beatles don't exactly get worse with age -- even on the shelf.

I’ve left the most central aspect of the game for last, because it’s hard to speak about music whose merits and quality have been debated for over 40 years. Suffice to say, the songs on display here helped shape entire branches of popular music that came in later years. The game does an admirable job of showcasing that music, delivering a brand new way for fans to appreciate it, and undoubtedly drawing new fans into the fold.

For the non-Beatles fans out there, The Beatles: Rock Band is still a great game, as it does have Rock Band 2 at its core, but it's not quite the experience that its predecessor was. The songs are catchy (and if you start playing, you're likely to find yourself becoming a fan of the band), but the limited track list and limited DLC interoperability knock things down a notch when The Beatles: Rock Band is compared to its peers. So long as you don't mind a short, but sweet, experience, it's worth checking out. Just don't expect a revolution.

With less than half the songs you'd normally get in a Rock Band release, The Beatles could use a lot more music. But for fans of the band, buying this game is a no-brainer. If your favorite song isn't among the 45 included on the disc, there's a good chance it's among the list of DLC set to drop in the near future. And if you've yet to develop an appreciation of the Fab Four, then this is a great opportunity to experience what is perhaps the most enduring catalog in the history of popular music. The Beatles: Rock Band more than delivers on the iconic band's legacy.

I wasn’t a fan of The Beatles going into this game review but I sure learned a few things about the band and their music, and for a few hours I actually became a Beatle. This game has so much detail at every level of production. It’s much more than a track pack (like AC-DC) and it blows away specific band-themed games like Metallica. The Beatles: Rock Band is a little bit of rock and roll history and a game that no video game player or music lover should miss.

While The Beatles: Rock Band is a very good game on the whole, it isn’t quite as prolific as Rock Band 2. Rock Band 2 is such a huge value that it’s hard to recommend anything else if you’re looking to just start playing these musical games. Hell, if you’re looking to get into the music game genre, the Rock Band 2 bundle is $150 USD cheaper than the TB:RB bundle at this time, and all the instruments are fully compatible with each other. Meanwhile, for all you guys who get these games just to mash out solos from Avenged Sevenfold or Judas Priest, you’re probably not going to like this game much, simply because the actual guitar playing is mellow and genuine and lacks the crazy hammering and pulling that a lot of people really enjoy. Still, there’s a lot to love about this for gamers and for music fans. Anyone interested in learning about The Beatles or anyone just looking for a nice, laid-back musical game should check this out.

The Beatles: Rock Band is een zeer goede band-game geworden.

Undeniably about as brilliant as a band specific music title can get, The Beatles Rock Band easily outstretches the confines of just being a music game into something that guarantees great times for all - provided of course you're not one of the strange type of folk who just doesn't like them.

The Beatles: Rock Band is an excellent game that any fan of The Beatles should consider buying. The stunning visual presentation, the well organized and thoughtfully guided tour of The Beatlles' career, the great music, and all the extra content make this a nice choice for anyone even remotely interested. Disappointingly, perhaps a bit too much was left for future DLC, though; making the 45 song set list seem underwhelming despite its innate class.

The only other criticisms we'd level at the game are fairly trivial ones. The lack of drum-fills and guitar effects is one, probably due to not wanting to 'alter' the music too much. The lack of Rock Band platform compatibility is another one, although having spent some time with the The Beatles, it would seem weird playing their music 'as' anyone else. If anyone deserved the standalone game treatment, it's them. And if this is the sort of standard we can expect from any future band-exclusive Rock Band titles, then we say bring it on.

The Beatles: Rock Band is de ultieme Beatles-ervaring geworden.

You will, however, laugh and sing and rock with your friends to some of the greatest music ever made. And while it didn't dig as deeply as we'd hoped, it's clear from the excellent execution that Harmonix has poured a lot of love into it. Maybe that's all you need.

Brimming with quality and class, The Beatles Rock Band is a game worthy of the band it pays tribute to.

Rock Band Beatles is an excellent tribute to the band; if any group deserves to stand in the limelight of their own game, it's The Beatles. But affixing "Rock Band" to the title leads to certain expectations -- as a Rock Band player who still gets plenty of use out of Rock Band 2 and its ever-expanding setlist, I feel a little cheated that none of these songs are available online for the other Rock Band games. And with only 45 songs, the experience is far too short; you can only play the same songs so many times before wanting to turn to Harmonix or Neversoft's other, more substantial offerings. But this is the first music game where, even when I didn't have a mic turned on I enthusiastically sang along with every track. If you're a Beatles fan, none of the game's omissions or faults can erase the excitement of playing and singing along with one of the most loved bands of all time.

Une seule conclusion s'impose : Come together, right now !

A dream come true for Beatles fans, but viewed purely as a game it's not a patch on Rock Band 2.
